My buddy had told me before that the ONLY time I would ever get pulled over without a plate is when a new trainee is with his FTO.

my wife just bougt a used 2 year old a6 4.2 ten days ago, but was missing the front plate..so the dealer had to take the rear one also and issue her new ones,...she gets pulled over in beverly hills for having no front plate. he states that he doesnt care what the temp. registration says and when she got it because there is plates issued to the car. she calles me and i start to shout over the speaker screaming at the officer and then he scratched it out and just gave her a tinted window ticket...unbeleivable.

California is in a state of financial crisis, and since this is another way for the state or municipality to collect revenue, we're going to either get ticketed or pulled over for no front plates.

Hard to believe as half of Beverly Hills has no plates at all
Think it must have been someone transfering over from Culver City or Airport duty

so your saying on my way to, lets say Danville for a car show in my 85 308qv,(the car does not have a place for the front nor if it did it would block off the air to the rad)that I may get ticketed on the way to or at the show parked to be judged, this could happen,S**T

Technically. And you would have to drill holes or run wire to hang it. You won't get one though. Not in that car.
    Don't worry about it.

I think the reason they want these on your car is for nothing more than identification. They can ID you from the front as well as the back. I removed my plates, but as a lot of you know, I have advertising all over my car, front bumper included.

I see cops look at the car, read the ad, and go about their business. They have stopped me for the side window tinting, so to fix that. I tinted the back ones darker than the fronts, to give the illusion the fronts arent tinted. So far its worked. I get a fair amount of speeding tickets and they havent said anything yet.

So Government can properly identify you through their automated revenue generation bots.

Some southern states do not require a front plate, perhaps the people there have their government in check from looney ideas such as a 'front plate'.
