I've never been to one but have heard enough positive reviews to venture out to the one here in Baltimore. I am in town visiting from New Orleans and despite all of the great food where I am from, we simply do not have many steak destinations. I have been to Texas de Brazil so I understand the drill of the servers bringing out endless meat. But I was wondering if there is a suggested way to play it and what cuts are actually worthwhile.

Any opinions? Oh, dinner is in an hour, lol

    Order the:

    Picanha
    Beef rib
    lamb chops
    linguica
    Alcatra

Don't fill up at the salad bar but you can fashion a nice Caprese from it!

    Enjoy!

Go and enjoy, you will have a great meal! They have this corn type of horse diver that you may like. Their salad bar is awesome and they also have some sort of Brazilian signature cocktail that was pretty darn tasty! Ask your server.

Just keep that silly little card on green the entire time. There isn't a bad cut in the house. I can't speak for the place in Baltimore, but if it's anything like the place in Atlanta, you'll never forget it. Enjoy, and I hope your pants' waistband has considerable elasticity.

    Perfect meat, every time.

Don't eat 10 days prior, you wont eat for 10 days after.

You will be in a lot of pain when you leave. It's the good pain that only a belly full of fire roasted beef can give.

Darth550 and I have had a few excellent churrascuria dinners together so you should do what he says.......he knows his stuff.

As for me........Picanha, Picanha, Picanha and more Picanha........with a little Linguica and Alcatra a Aolio thrown in for good measure. Also, if they have it, a bunch of Coracao is a must.

    Finished off by 5-6-7 Caipirinhas..........

Don't eat for at least 8 hours beforehand........and like he said, don't fill up on salad, beans and rice either.......you are allowed to eat all the pao de queijo (golf ball sized hot cheese bread) you can though.

I've been there. If you want to P-off a vegetarian or someone from PETA, it's the place to go. Great meat and lots of it.

I've been to the one in DC and it's very good, a bit pricey IMO though. As Kds said Picanha and Caipirinhas are the best.

Several years ago I went to the original (?) location in Porto Allegre and it was nothing fancy like the ones in the US. Great food and very cheap back then.

Hope you enjoyed it. We had a Ferrari of Dallas Christmas dinner at the one in Addison, Tx. I rolled out of there with more beef in me than I ever thought I could hold. You have to know the story about Fogo de and Texas de Brazil. Fogo was what came first and then there was a divorce. I cannot remember if it was the husband or the wife who started the second restaurant.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do. I have eaten at both Fogo and Texas de.............Like Fogo more....

I've been to plenty of chuhascarias in Brazil and I'm not sure if Fogo de Chao does it, but the best dishes to me are grilled chicken hearts and garlic picaña. If you order the regular picaña, ask for slices off the most bottom piece of meat, the small cut is usually the most tender one.
