Prime 112 in south beach but if you don't like a total scene beware. There is always at least one million dollars in cars out front. The portions are nice and food is only of the best quality.

Tuesday and Friday night are "Hooker Night" there. I used to work in the same building in which Bluepointe is located. (Really, on Tues and Fri, the hottest women there are 'working.') Great food, but we ate there 3 times a week. The bar is killer.

My top places to eat . . .

Mas Provencale -- Eze Village, France, near Monaco
Joe's Stone Crabs -- South Beach
Hal's -- Atlanta (Best steak in the world)
Peter Luger's -- Second Best steak in the world.
Mr. Chow -- Beverly Hills -- Chilean Sea bass (aka the Patagonian Toothfish) will melt in your mouth. (I know it is a star-f**ker place, but the food is excellent.)

Don't hold your breath. I haven't had any experiences in a lifetime on this coast like I have in days of Chicago/New York trips.

Rooftop restaurant at the Singapore Hilton. Cannot remember the name of it.
Another I cannot remember the name of. Rio De Janiero, Brazil steakhouse on the main street across from Copacabana Beach.

Both these were in the 70's so they may not even be there now, but boy were they both excellent.......

Aqua El Due in florence, Italy was one of the most enjoyable meals I've had...the blueberry steak was simply delicious! also i found the Peter Luger's in Great Neck to be a bit more "consistant" than the one in brooklyn...

When you go to Maranello, the Cavallino and Montana are must visits, but the food there is very average :(. For great food and service, go to the Abbracci restaurant in the town square.

    In London:

Scalini - Best Italian ...order the spaghetti with lobster.
KAI - Best Chinese ... order the crispy noodles, wasabi prawns, and crispy duck.
Le Petite Maison - Best French... simple, healthy, family style food in a nice atmosphere, non of the stuck up french attitude. (sorry any french guys)
Nobu - Best Japanese/Fusion... always great where ever you go.

    Monte Carlo:

    Rampoldi - Best Italian

    Portofino:

Da Puny - Probably the best Pesto sauce in the world. Anything with pesto is great there.

    Milan:

Bice - great escalope milanese, tropical salad, grilled mushrooms.
Papermoon - great pizza, great pasta

I can go on and on.... :)

I wouldn't necessarily say that... I've spent my whole life in ack during the summers. There are plenty of non-touristy places. That being said, they are indeed becoming far and few in between.

I've had great meals all over the place, but when I lived in Atlanta, they actually had my two favorites. I'm a filet guy myself and they have two of the best there. If you like broiled steaks and a lively atmosphere, New York Prime, across from Phipps is the best. The last time I was there, they had cigars you could buy and smoke after dinner, but I think that's been outlawed now. If you like grilled steaks, Hal's is the best. If you're not a local, it's tough to find (Piedmont and Roswell Road area), but well worth asking around for. This atmosphere is straight out of an old Mob movie and the staff has been there forever and knows how take care of you. Of course, you have to get the lump crab meat on top to make it complete!
