According to one of David's people, the hammer price on the Talbo Lago was identical to the Christies 2005 sale three years ago. The only difference in price was that the former owner paid significantly higher commissions than Goodings fixed 10% at today's sale.

    Cheers,

I have 3.685 MM. Let's take the buyer who became a seller 2.5 years and a few miles later. Fee's both way and Taxes add?
Net loss? I guess about 1MM. Price David got was good in a tough market but the tree is no longer growing to the sky even for VERY good cars. Look at the Clear Vision Duesy selling right now. 760K no Joy there.

    Regards!

Who are the callers I am watching on the internet stream and you in the room. Particularly who is the American chap reading the car details who keeps interrupting the rather splendid English auctioneer. His boss I presume ?

    No sir im not.
    SCM data base:

Talbot Lago 150SS chassis 90120 sold for 4.9 mio usd, Bonham's Carmel auction.

This car Chassis #90105 sold for 3.5 mio usd at Christie's, Monterey, CA August 18, 2005.

So we are back to 2005 prices. Seems logical given where other cars are changing hands.

TZ at 400k, again confirms the re-basing to 2005 prices.

    Welcome to 2005.

Lusso 640K. Below reasonable low estimate.

No rush to that price at all. 540k seemed like a group concensus for a while.

    Hi Jim,

The Deusy was absolutely beautiful but under bidder next to me said the car might have some possible undisclosed issues which effected bidding.

A bit less than the 850K ask for the one in this weeks FML.

The Multi award winning Daimler Double Six 2.45MM. A bit sad that. Best of Show Pebble Beach...

    Hi Bill,

How good of a restoration on the Daytona? Seems like a great deal at $286K. The Lusso you sold at RM brought $550K I think. The Gooding Lusso brought an extra $154K. Were the cars that much different in quality?

    Gene.

I agree that the Tommy Lee car is much more desirable and 1.4 MM less in only 6 months.

Nice 8V. Smooth lines. Lusso-esque from the front.

750k for the 8v was great money, either not real bid, or the seller is asleep.
Either way, should have been sold!
