After looking for many years I finally found the 1/43 kits of the Ferrari 512 (BBR) and Porsche 917 (Profil 24) from the Steve McQueen file LeMans. While I have built many plastic models, I do not have a lot of experience with metal 1/43 kits.

I would appreciate any advice and tips on building these kits.

    Thanks, Gerry

As with the link posted by the stig, the 'World of 43rd' is a nice little booklet and should give all the details you need.

I would strongly suggest you start with the 'simple' 512 first, and perhaps build a few more before starting on the Profil Porsche 917 (it is one of those kits that ideally needs 'rectification' throughout). The basic rules are always use a sharp blade in your scalpel and try to avoid model paints except for detailing (use aerosol auto primer and top coat for the major parts). If you get stuck you could PM me or ask again on the forum.
