    Do you know that when you buy something without a real reason and soon after find yourself using it daily and you can't imagine how you managed to survive before you had it?
    I recently bought the "Handbook of Mathematics" from Bronshtein/Semendyayav, or short "the Bronshtein", a nearly legendary 1200 page book about everything that matters in maths. I thought it would be nice to have for occasional reference purposes, but it quickly got its permanent place on my desk and I even find myself randomly browsing through the pages while the computer starts or something like that... I'm curios to know what things you never thought you needed before you got used to them!

    A DVR for recording shows. The only way Dad can watch TV on the 52" HD!!! 90% of the day is devoted to Spongebob Squarepants, iCarly, and Drake & Josh otherwise............

    I never realized how much I rewind "live" shows, and record others.

    While on vacation I think each one of my friends (as well as myself) said at one point, "Hey rewind that."

    email on my phone, in the winter not so much but during the spring/summer i'm NEVER home so it's absolutely essential that I have email while on the road considering 90% of my business is done through email too bad my provider has the worst service for it!

    The tabs on the ends of the boxes of wax paper, aluminum foil etc. Push them in, and the roll won't come flying out of the box when you pull.
