I will have to put up some shots of the new lake house. It's very comtemporary but in a timeless sort of manner. From living room floor to the top of the ceiling...42 feet. Lots of angles, glass block, over looks, that sort of thing.

Great pictures, especially the first two. I keep a folder on my desktop specific to those types of pictures for inspiration, would you mind sharing more?

There's a collection of 22 live/work spaces in Newport Beach named Cannery Lofts. They finished being built in 2005, and it's in my plans to occupy one of the properties by the end of 2009 or before.

Here's an article written up about the development: http://www.builderonline.com/loft/project-of-the-year-cannery-lofts-newport-beach-c.aspx

They are certainly photogenic, here's a set from which I've taken over the past couple months..

The execution on some of these homes is so great I find it hard to believe that they actually exist!

The biggest drawback that I have with the stark white interiors is just exactly how large of a staff does it take to keep them looking like that?

I can’t speak for all of them but in the last set of images, #’s 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 are a real place because it was in Architectural Digest a few months back.

#1 and a few other shots of the same house I believe are near silicon valley. The house is owned by a tech startup owner I believe. If you want I can dig up the Architectural Digest issue and give you more info.

    Best,
    Walid.

This house was for sale recently. Wonderful original 1964 modern. The couple who built it in 1964 were in their early 60's and the wife just passed at over 100. Their retirement home. Everything was original - kitchen, baths, etc. Great place. The kitchen was original except some appliances, it had a built in ironing station with the original iron, turquoise Formica counter tops with built-in storage, and original wall paper. Fun stuff. Master bath featured pink marble vanity, sunken pink marble tub, and a steam shower. Awesome. Living room fireplace mantle was white marble with floor to ceiling windows over 10' tall. Cypress wood paneling. Fantastic house. We put in an offer but lost out to someone else. All we wanted to do was update the kitchen, do some other minor updating, then enjoy it. Nothing major. Just enjoy the space and fill it with Eero Saarinen chairs and other good stuff.

Just found out today the buyer bulldozed it. Flattened it and saved nothing. Scraped the site clean. Making room for his McMansion with room for his five kids. Probably a brick center entrance colonial - yeah, what we need more of in Richmond. Sad day. Some pictures I took of it. Probably not more of these left out there.

    THANX !!

A close view of an old functioning fountain ina little patio enterung 2 lofts I've created for my children.

It was a wine-farm and is located in a natural-site.

If you want me to, I can post a general view of the site w/ the view on the Aqueduct of Roquefavour (the largest aqueduct in stones of the world, on the model of the "Pont du Gard' but 10 times larger) and the mountain Ste Victoire (world famous after having been painted by Cezanne, Monet & Picasso, among other).

I welcome all the US fellow chatters to visit me and other F. collectors in my area.
