I posted these pictures in other threads, but I figured they should be part of this one.

1965GT has been property of film actor James Coburn, as far as I know it is being restored by Hietbrink

2209GT wears a "normal" SWB body today.

2053GT is of course history, and this is the only colour photo I have.

    To member sicqnus:

Piero Drogo was not born in Argentina but in Nothern Italy in Vignale Monferrato, a small town near the city of Alessandria in Piedmont on Aug. 8th, 1926. His family immigrated to Venezuela and Drogo began racing in Venezuela in the 1950s. He raced extensively across the South American continent in sports cars and in the road races that were popular at the time and he knew most of the top racers of the era, notably Fangio. At the end of the fifties he returned to Italy and found a job as a mechanic at Stanguellini in Modena. In the sixties he established Carrozzeria Sports Cars in Modena.

    Kind Regards,

    Joop van der Meer

It's pretty amazing to see how many cars tend to look better in black and white than they do in full color. I really love all those old pictures.

    Nope. 1963 Nurburgring 1000km number #113 - finished 8th overall.

Same year : Tour de France - number #174 (drivers Kerrison/Rafael) - Do Not Finish.

    Goodwood Easter Monday - number #49 (driver C. Kerrison) - ?

    Goodwood Whitsun Trophy - number #? - (driver C. Kerrison) - 3rd overall.

    Goodwood Tourist Trophy - number #? - (drivers Kerrison/Sutcliffe) - 10th overall.

    Brands Hatch Guards Trophy - number #? - (driver C. Kerrison) - 9th overall.

Car was made at Drogo's during the winter of 1962. #2053GT and #2735GT were sent by Ecurie Francorchamps. Neri and Bonacini made the mechanical part in the same way they've worked on Gendebien's #2819GT (with the help of Giotto Bizzarini).

Car came to the Catania-Etna directly from the "Tour de France" (14-22 september 63) where the car driven by Kerrison and Raphael broke its gearbox and has a DNF. #2735GT was shot on 20 september 63 by E. Di Giorgio. It seems only Raphael was there and drove the car. Kerrison wasn't interested in the event (but he drove the car the full 1964 season).
    Date : 21 september 1963. Car number "178"
    Date : 20 september 1963. Car number "174"
    Driver : Peter Raphael.
    Chassis : #2735GT
Location : San Giovanni La Punta (Catania)

Absolutely no idea of the result. Probably worth trying asking the guy who are running http://www.cataniaetna.it/ but the site's offline today.

+1. One of my top five fave individual Ferrari's. It's been restored back to it's original body, the one prior to the body in the photo shown...
