You know what amazes me is the price of these cars and the price of parts of the original cars. Its strange how two parts although maybe not identical but you have to admit very close in design are so far apart in pricing! Doesnt make sense..

Simple actually, "knockoffs" have none of the development (or marketing) costs, are usually only superficially similar and are aimed at a much less affluent (and less discriminating) market.

It has discs that bolt between the real brakes and the wheel. The calipers are mounted on the real discs, behind the simulated ones you see in the pic.

This is possibly Frank Beard's former car. He is the drummer for ZZ Top and in the early '90s had a 250GTE converted to a 250GTO spyder.

The chassis plate shows it started as a 250 GTE (2+2). Whether the chassis is Ferrari or not, not enough information.

That looks pretty realistic to me, though it might just be the angle. How can you tell that one is a replica?

To be honest, I had to ask several people to make sure it was a replica. Never having seen a Countach before, I couldn't tell if it was real or not.

(I forgot to mention, it was at some salvage place...that's why it's in such terrible condition)

I have always thought the Countach was such an ugly car...the replica does not help it out much

Thanks for the extra pictures. The front lip definitely looks off, and the interior makes it obvious. Other than that and the poor fit and finish I find it really hard to tell. I have seen a Countach in person at the San Diego Automotive Museum several years ago.
