My friend's 512TR idles unevenly compared to my car. The exhaust stinks too. I'm thinking cats or O2 sensors. He has replace ignition leads, but hasn't fix the problem. Car has not run for over 6 mths. Anyone has any idea what could be the problem?

Dirty , clogged injectors and fuel filters, fouled plugs or it is just upst that it sat for 6 months, try an Italian tune up first

To quote......"My friend's 512TR idles unevenly compared to my car"

Can you describe what you mean by "uneven"....? Are the idle rpms fluctuating? Is there mis-firing? A combination of both? A rotten egg smell could be a disintegrating catalytic convertor, or somtimes bad gas. Not driving these cars regularly doens't help them much either.

Obviously, not as smooth. However, not fluctuating and definitely not misfiring when you rev the engine. Not sure how to describe it, but there is a slight vibration, seems like one cylinder is not firing. The car starts easily on first crank though.
THANKS FOR THE ADVISE GUYS. I WILL TELL HIM TO CHECK ON THESE AND GET IT SERVICE ASAP.
