Pastrami is good, but I like the triple J (Roast Beef, corned Beef, Turkey with slaw) at TooJay's...

Pomperdale's on East Commercial Blvd. (North side in the strip center just East of Bayview Drive) is a local landmark for the best Pastrami sandwich in town. :p

My choice for the best deli is Boomy's in Plainview, NY. But TooJays makes a perfectly reasonable sandwich. I'm not a pastrami man, though; I go for the brisket, with potato salad, a knish and a good sour pickle!

Thanks Fred for starting this thread and also it was great finally to meet you at WPBSCW. You made a great impression on my dad who ran into you twice. Once at the track and the second time at the Supercar event when he introduced me to you.

I'm glad I followed BT's comments on Toojay's. Thanks for your recommendation ....it's an outstanding place. West

Glad you enjoyed Toojay's. I've been going there since the early 1980's.
Great bread, and really good quality meats.
Try a Dr. Brown's cream soda with a corned beef sandwich sometime, it's great!
    :)
