+1 Very cool! [If it's also HD we could read his wheel!] :)

OTOH, a head is not a very "stable" platform for a camera mount (!) - I hope they still keep the "standard" cams as I think this view could get a little "nauseating" after a while.

They tried "head cams" on the umpires in the NFL a while back, everyone hated it - OK, a refs head is going to be moving a lot more than a drivers, but the "problem" remains. [They moved on and gave us the *awesome* sky cam - I want to be a skycam driver!]

I still love the view though!

    Cheers,
    Ian

Where on the helmet is it mounted? I couldn't see it when he got into the car, but it still looked higher than eye level. The videos they came out with last year you could barely see over the driver's hands! But I can't wait until this makes its way to Spa and Monaco.

I believe it is inside the helmet - lipstick cam type device positioned close to eye level. that's the way Alonso's was installed last year.

I'm pretty sure it's above the eye slot - At ~12 seconds you catch a glimpse of it, but it's hidden by his visor when he gets in the car.

IIRC, wasn't it Webber who ran one mounted low down in the bottom of the helmet - Didn't work too well if memory serves.

Yeah it was in his last race right? He wore it and it was pretty cool but I kept trying to stand up to see over his hands. LMAO It needed to be higher, I like the way it was on Massas. It would be cool to get those views while passing, at the start, in the rain. I hope they run them this year.

They showed it last year for about 5 seconds - it was mounted to DC's helmet at the Brazilian GP. Too bad DC's race lasted like 10 seconds. :D
