C'mon Scud, you know me better than that! You know EXACTLY what I posted! Now, if you will excuse me.........im off to **** the missus!
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking of doing but keep remembering my own advice of CA. What do they say about a faint heart not winning a fine lady?
Interesting read is the Fin Review these days... almost every page full of doom and gloom and 'I told you so' crap.. Seeing GoLo go down is no real surprise... Although the amazing stat today is that Aldi have just opened its 204th store! The big boys in WW & Coles are at ~750 each... 204 stores in barely 8 years is pretty impressive.... with plans to open 30 stores a year for the next few... a large power shift!
i don't shop there, but they are desperately needed to give a fare go for consumers and suppliers to WW and Coles. those two are *****
Na, thats a 3800 series 47 I think. No wonder they were usless, bring out a series 2 within 12months? Way to keep resale high!
Being a "glass half full" banjo player from the deep south, I'd rather punt on when it gets to 7000. I'll go for 2012.
Speaking of them and not being on-topic. Are they any good? Talking 2000-2002 models here. Still look pretty nice. Do they go ok? Or are they unreliable as all hell?
I think the 3200 was a bi-turbo. If so, a guy from Canberra entered it in Targa Tas for a couple of years. Either he couldn't pedal or it was a bit of a HOS. I suspect it was a combination of the two factors.
Got a statement from a unit fund I'd forgotten about yesterday and it's got me to thinking what exactly constitutes a 'long term' investment... Investment dates back to 1995 and with all dividends reinvested it's returned 21% over those 14 years (a stellar 1.5%pa!) - problem is the current balance is now 15% below what the 'current' dollars figure would be adjusting '95 dollars for '08 dollars! Fund is BT Asian Shares which was the gun pick a few years back (not when we first got in).
bit like me finding a car i forgot about...........cost in 1966 about 50 pounds, in todays money i wanna spend 5k on it getting it restored, am i just dumb or is it a wise move?
Definately not dumb! You're making exactly the point I'm getting at - spend the money NOW on something that will give you joy forever, in 15 years the 5k you might not have spent won't buy you a pot of jam! This is a hard thing to explain - 'things' as things aren't what life's about, but some 'things' have a real intrinsic value for how they make us feel; money as a 'thing' can never do that. PS - did I mention how jealous I am about your find! It's SO cool.
