took me a long time (3 yrs) and a lot of wasted downloads to find that vid and upload it there. i think though that i did post the link on this very thread before i took my hiatus from the site (i got fedup with the constant bickering and banning of ppl etc)
Seems our very own Nembo 1777 is co-authoring a Miura book scheduled for relase in April 2009! He must have been a 'closet Miuraisti' because I always thought Countachs were his thing and never knew he had any Miura experience at all! Either way, congratulations are in order if all this is true, and its about time the Miura got its just due after all these decades with some good publications. Anybody heard of this other Miura book???
It'll be hard to top your book Joe. I just got my copy today from Amazon after a long delay. I thought I knew a far amount about these cars, but I was overwhelmed by the amount of additional information you included. Congratulations!
I know that Marc Sonnery and Simon Kidston are writing one - they photographed 5096 at Cavallino in '08, not heard anything recently about when its due. Not sure who Nembo 1777 is though...
Joe - I finished reading your book on the plane on the way home today. Excellent job! Thank you for taking the time to share your years of knowledge, experience and research with the rest of us. I appreciate it. John
Aaarghh - almost here and UPS can't be bothered to get out in the snow, should arrive tomorrow. Location Date Local Time Description EAST BOSTON, MA, US 01/28/2009 8:38 A.M. DEPARTURE SCAN 01/28/2009 8:04 A.M. ARRIVAL SCAN 01/28/2009 6:25 A.M. ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS
I apologize for the delays in the USA. In Europe the book is flowing freely via www.veloce.co.uk, but in the USA Amazon underestimated how popular the book would be and the first batch sold out in 2 days!! But, as they say, "reinforcements are on the way"... http://www.joesackey.com/TheLamborghiniMiuraBible/
It's certainly been an adventure here as well. I had 2 copies on order through Amazon for several months. I was finally told by them that they might not ever be able to get them. WTF! I subsequently located 2 other copies through 2 different vendors, they've been shipped. When I tried to cancel the first order, TOO LATE, in shipment. Now it looks like I'll have 4, possibly all arriving today. So, if anyone needs a copy.......................................................................
