    People try to portray AE as self moderating. It's not. Ash does more moving, editing and deleting of posts than anyone else I've come across.

    Of course he can, it's his site. the point is that he does...a lot.

    anyway.....the cool thing is how google finds the phil hughes web site.

    It seems it's done to keep stuff on topic so the content stays relevant. I don't think he appreciates the way alot of posts will only be understood by 5% of the users in that he thinks it could intimidate other users from posting quality information.

    Lots of stuff gets moved, but not deleted or locked the way things are here. At least on AE its just moved somewhere else and you can carry on there.

    I've got no problem with Ash wanting to keep the quality content of his site useful and relevant to as many users as possible.

    last night an owner of multiple ferraris was telling me about how he was doing a google search for an auto electrician in melbourne. he was staggered when link number one was the web page on ferrarifixer and the oil leaks.

    he said it was quite an eye opener. i felt very satisfied.

    sometimes i reckon you're a bit thick. the question is not 'how many people have still gone to FF?' despite me warning them about his poor treatment of me and his slick talk and constant upselling, but 'how many people went elsewhere' because of it.

    and as i always say, the people who still go there anyway are at least going there with their eyes open. good enough for me. sadly enough even an incompetent ferrari mechanic will always keep busy in melbourne due to the shortage of good ones. throw in the gift of the gab and the ability to bs with the best of them, and phil will be busy for life.

    but thanks for bringing it up for more discussion!
