I own a 412i and thought about to ask if any of you had any experience / heard about those PULSTAR spark plugs (see attachment).

Given my passion for anything that's is capacitor based electronics, AND if there is really no risk involved in using those plugs, would you recommend those for a 412's engine or would you rather stick with the good old fashioned ?

I heard from other performance car owners that use those new plugs are reliable, not high-tech, more powerful than traditional technology, and it even might save some fuel. What do you think ?

Presuming your mixture level is set correctly, a spark is a spark is a spark...and a "hotter spark" doesn't make any difference with the burn, or combustion efficiency. The tried and true NGK plugs will do just fine...

Don't tell me, let me guess.

FoMoCo, GM, Mercedes Benz, Toyota, Ferrari, Motorcraft, Bosch, NGK, Nippondenso, Standard Oil, Shell Oil, BP, et al have been trying to keep them a secret from us and destroy the company because they work so well, save gas, save the environment, make our cars last longer, run better and jump higher.

Use what everyone else is and you will be better off than chasing after miracle snake oil.

Plugs don't make power, you're engine does and so spark will start mayhem in which they must perform well only to invoke fire at will, nothing else. On the other hand however, a plug not capable of dealing with conditions will wear out easily and frequent inspection is then needed. Maybe the plug signs pending trouble but that's all together not a starter job which can be made more difficult as plugs with mileage have fuel salts to confuse an expert read. The manufacturer has already expressed his opinion on sparkplug issue, so following his lead is a Good Thing and won't get you in trouble.

Technology moves on and the Pulse Plug may be better...time will tell. Just like synthetic lubricates, aluminum radiators, satellite radio, ect...some people jump on the new technology bandwagon in the beginning and others wait until it becomes the accepted norm...my dad still has a rotary phone...

All of this is true, Franklin...but the laws of physics don't change.
Then again, I do have a large "flux capacitor" in my car for time travel, when ever I need to...

    Regards,
    David

Technology does change and snake oil salesmen have kept up. They have been been selling snake oil cloaked in the guise of technology for some time now.

Technophobia is one thing, common sense quite another.

Whoa! whoa! whoa! Rifle driver, are you telling me that maybe beside the plugs you do not think the magnets I brought to put beside my fuel line is not going to give me 50% better fuel mileage?? and I have got way better spark plugs than these.. I do not think you under stand how it works. The only reason why Ferrari and Porsche do not use them is they are paid off by the gas company's, Get with the program Rifle driver!

Popcorn time! [This could be *really* good!]

EDIT: And, I agree, magnets next to the fuel lines definitely improves gas mileage :D

I am sure that was the real "secret" Ron Dennis boys stole from Ferrari and you just let it out for all to see!!!
Now I can put that on my car with the "100 mpg" carb. and the TP rolls oil filter as long as it does not mess with my fuel line magnets. When the automative establishments thousands of eng. get a clue they can visit me at my straw bale home and I can show them how I beat their best with "mail order"!!

I have not use nor have I ever seen a Pulse Plug. I do suspect that sooner or later someone will come up with something better than the type of plug that has been in use for decades...whether this is it, I have no idea???

My favorite is the guy who had a sketch of the exaust going back into the carbs on a V8 motor. He called it his perpetual motion machine or something like that. I'll look for the picture.

No question about it. With all the money and technology and attention given green technologies, when a better plug comes along Al Gore will shout it from the roof tops and the world will embrace it and some shmoe will make a gazillion bucks.
