Patient as always, I finally got your book Joe after a long delay. Like many of us, I was expecting your "Bible" with enthusiast, what is just legitimate after all the Mktg you did around overhere and overthere...I was holding my breath for months (and still alive). Frankly, I don't like your title that is not very appropriate to your work (compared to previous books)...but you are the author that's your choice ! I'm enjoying the consequent additional informations you included, for instance all about Zampolli, that us european guys don't know too much about since he lived in USA. Congratulations Joe for the overall work !
Joe, Regarding period photos, how have you done to get authorisation for copyrights ? As many of yours are coming from Tonino's book for instance, or Coltrin, and so on... Can you share your experience in this matter ? Olivier Image Unavailable, Please Login
YEESS Joe, it´s incredible - attached my daughter Malou with your master piece ;o) But also look to the issue of Matthias Pfannmüller: "Valentino Balboni - Der beste Job der Welt: Lamborghini-Testfahrer" which will be - hopefully - published in 2009 at http://www.paul-pietsch-verlage.de/ Best Miura-5084 regards Jochen Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very simple. You have to find the archive holder of the Coltrin archive or the Zagari archive, or whatever. Then its a matter of money for a copyright usage specifically for the book. I started rounding up period images about 5 years ago. The period images in my book do not come from Tonino's book, they come direct from the archive holder.
Who knows more about Miura P400 #3441, N° 166, engine #1839. Delivered 03-Apr-1968, it was Amaranto mett. (dark metallic) & nera (black leather). VPM - french importer sold it to 1st owner Mr. Eknayan, diamonds trader. He had a bad accident, rolling over roof...and the car was brought back to VPM workshop. Edmond Ciclet (VPM chief mechanic) recommended this "base" to Thierry Gore in order to modify it for racing purpose...in a Barchetta. Gore was delighted by the idea and they both spent so much time to convert it, even the engine has been rebuilt in order to deliver more than 400 hp/din. Gore did 3 or 4 races, including Tour de France 1971, untill car was stolen while on his trailer ! Rumor tells that robbery was managed by Gore himself...running out of money with his racing activities. There is with no evidence for this rumor. But it is said the engine #1839 was seen in a Miura in mid 90s. In a private landscape on the French riviera, for more than 30 years a tree is raising in middle of a rusted Miura shelf...cover by polyester/resin crusts looking like the shade of a Barchetta...the owner of the place refuses any offer $$$$, and he has so many other cars in the same shape/conditions on his landscape...believe me ! "Sharks" of the Riviera are waiting for years the day all these treasuries will be for sale ! I have also read the motivated letter of a Lambo collector (Austria or CH, I don't remember) adressed to Ciclet in order to finance the rebuilt of Tour de France Barchetta. But without the original base in hands, Ciclet won't start the job. Is Gore still alive or any other extra info is welcome !!! Olivier Image Unavailable, Please Login

Using babelfish... The fire-red Bible for all Lamborghini Miura fan It was designated the fastest sports car of its time, after the Spanish breeding place for particularly fiery bulls: the Lamborghini Miura. With the V12-Mittelmotor it reminded as first road cars strongly of a racing car. Although the Miuri has world-wide many fans, there was not ever a book, which dedicated itself this to automobiles force package. Joe Sackey, which author of the new book, has five Miuras possessed, which he restored and drove. This experience and expert knowledge from more than 20 years passion for this vehicle come in the English sprachigen book to the course. The chassis production register, technical illustrations and exclusive interviews with the designers of this car were published never before.
