    Nice photography!

Looks like the Jet Reception was the place to be and the track a place to hear.

Great photos & thanks for sharing. I've always wanted to ask this question so don't shoot me if its been asked before; but I notice that many of the earlier Ferrari classics are RHD, including GTO's. Is there any particular reason ofor this?

I'm not sure what happened to #1. I think it went off in the first practice session (the track has a newly paved surface that is still a little slick). Looks like he hit the tire barrier. That car has engine with serial #0001!
I was wondering about the right hand drive also. My GUESS is that many of the period tracks ran clockwise overall so race cars tried to put more weight to the right (inside) of the car. Even in a road course with lots of turns an overall clockwise orientation would have more right hand turns and that would make this an advantage. I know they did not export many of these cars to the Bahamas!

Yes, that is exactly correct! I was shocked at the amount of people at the Jet reception (I have never been previously), especially considering the $125 per person admission price.

Watching the drum brake class power through the turn just before the front straight with all four wheels slightly drifting was awesome! The fact that they repeated this for like 15 laps without incident is amazing.
My favorites were the old Alfa's and the torpedo shaped Maserati.
The blue 512M was really fast. It has super wide rear slicks that just sling it down the straights.
The #1 512BBLM was trying like crazy to keep up, and he did very well for the entire race. You could see the type A personality shining through in his driving on every lap.

    :)

This was the first time I actually made it the track to watch these cars and, I must say, it was exciting watching the early racers going through the hairpin at the far end of the track. The older cars drifting and some oversteer while the 512 looked like it was glued to the inside line of the track, and loud, yes. I will definately attend next year. There were a lot of people there, but the track is large enough that it wasn't crowded like the Concourse. Getting close-up with cars and mechanics was special.

He drove it into the tire wall on Thursday, it looked like he just oversteered it a little, dropped a tire and it was all over. He was back out and running in the next group.
