Definitely the 'money' shot! Beautiful photos!
i have had enough of the countach value talking so i am back to the odd optionals and special features this unit was a factory install in 1982 or at least this is what the owner told me i think it is true since it looked period, quite integrated (... not very much over the rear glass... ) and i am sure i have seen the same installation on a "special" white 5 liter italian car Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
two more interesting enough the car is a 4 liter but was badged 5000S since new even this (as strange as it looks ) i have heard about a white US late 400S (of an f-chat member) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
the car itself the skirts were supposedly an other factory add on while the interior has been redone and is not the original (see strange door panels etc...) the car has some owner "mods" here and there i forgot to note the VIN ....sorry Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Joe, i do not know it could be i think the VIN was 1121348 or 1121438....may be the later one...as owner said is a 1982 car
I believe that system is called the "Cockpit." I remember seeing the ad for it in one of my old Sports Car Graphic mags from the early 80's.
As it is mention; EmilianAuto, what is the story on this comppany? (My car was first delivered to EmilianAuto.)
no there is no radio room, only a flat space covered in leather ...cards can be stored somewhere around...they do not take so much space
they were official lambo dealer in Bologna in the 80's and early 90's (may be for even more years...) they were also Aston, Jag ecc.. dealer
This Panasonic stereo system was also factory installed by Lotus in the 'Essex' Turbo Esprits in 1980, so maybe that is where you've seen it before. I've never seen it in a Lambo!
was this thing pretty exepensive then? it looks to have been with all these old settings, functions -and buttons! - around in Pasini's countach book you could see it in a white (think it was a QV ...) countach
correct the white qv with the TV antenna on the engine hood, hide was blue/white, it had the US rear bumper around the taillights and was registred in Milano.
Yes! That's exactly the one. I still have that magazine with the road test in it. It was done in the rain I believe. I also think the Panasonic ad was on the back cover of my Sports Car Graphic magazine which was a special Ferrari edition with features such as a 308 GTS road test, Ferrari car clubs and a test of a 50's Testa Rossa in the Nevada desert. This is the book which started my life long Ferrari addiction and the love of the 308 series.
Joe, that looks like my old car, what can you tell me about that one? Obviously the front wing is identifiable. I would say that I am 99% ? certain it was mine for about 6 years, do you see my name on it's registry history? I got excited seeing her again, like an old flame
No. I was afraid you would ask. You know, I do know where I might have it, in one of my owners club magazine's when I showed it at Concorso, circa 1990ish? I will dig and communicate to you. That front wing was kind of unique, it sat up on 'blocks', had the sides similar to the rear, the white wheels, the door panels, ALL consistent with my car. Cool, I always wondered where it went? I am fairly sure it went to Symbolic after I unloaded it to a 'broker' - sorry, I didn't know/of you then Mike
no, if it was my former car, it was titled as an '81, but had more in common with the '82's, must have been a 'transition' car....
