One more thing Collin - the "F355 side" of my harness IS INDEED an OEM Ferrari harness that I hacked.
Pap - you're a wiz with shrink tubing... do you think I should be concerned about the back side of that WeatherPack connector, even though the individual wires are sealed?
Its just a local electronics supply place here in Vegas. Any specialized electronics shop should have them. I'll send you a bag of them tomorrow or thursday.
I have been traveling so much I haven't seen my car in weeks (last weekend - TX!). But I will take your mapping and remake my harnesses .... soon! My setup will look sort of like Daniel's. I have the stock 355 ends at one end, and the 348 end at the other. The plug ends of the 355 harnesses disassemble very nicely, with the contacts easily moved from one pin position to another. I just have to snip off all of the electrical tape to move from one light to the other. Thanks for the map!
Hey Husker sorry to be off topic but I saw this on ick-bay though you would be interested in it. This looks like a stock 355 solid panal somehow affixed to a 348. What do you think? Nice looking panel. I figure it must be a one-off of some kind. It's not a 355 panel - it's much easier to just make one from scratch than try to do that.
Just wanted to let everyone know that wiring harnesses for the LeMans Grill are now available thanks to Steve! I have simply added $100 to cover the cost. If you want to do your own wiring, no big deal. I am currently all sold out of Grills, but am expecting to have more sometime the second week of March!
UPDATE: No more Grills until late March. The ones that are arriving in the next two weeks are now all spoken for.
Just curious, what you think about this mod and the effect it will have on resale price positive, negative or no effect at all? I like the looks of the mod and will most like add this to my 348 but know from my older cars any deviation from originality sharply effects the value and not for the better. Can you easily go back to the original tails lights? thanks
I guess "easy" is relative, but basically you are just restoring the sheet metal mounting frame that holds the lights back to its original cut-outs, which are essentially square holes. It's invisible once the rectangular taillights are put back in, so perfection in this instance isn't a requirement. I "restored" mine to stock just to see how long it would take; my dad knows how to weld and it took about an hour to figure out how everything was to go back on, and about 35 minutes to weld the pieces of sheet metal on. Everything fit, so I proceeded to trim the mount again! I don't know that the LeMans is going to help or hurt the value - that all depends on the eye of the buyer - but if you keep your stock lights and grill handy, I would think the LeMans would sure make a nice bonus to the deal!
Just FYI, I have two Grills arriving this week that are not yet spoken for. If you want one of these PM me.
