Looking for some info on a Superfast we just purchased. Serial number is 5989SF and was the 7th of the 36 built. I have been told that it possibily came from the Factory with cloth interior instead of leather. It has just received a nut and bolt restoration and is in leather now. Just wondered if anyone knows definitively if it was born with cloth.

    Larry,
Briefly what is your opinion of the 500 now you have owned it for awhile. Just interested as I was looking at one sometime ago. I have zero first hand knowledge of the type.

I have a note saying that as late as in 1998 this car still had greyish cloth interior. Too bad if that is gone now. Celeste Flavia probably means blue cloth as used by Lancia at the time. Best wishes, Kare

The factory paperwork I have for 5989 SF does NOT say Celeste for the interior. It says a different color.

I don't have anything substantive to contribute, but I would like to compliment you on a beautiful car! Any driving impressions?

    Jerry,

Exterior mirrors and radios were not fitted by PF on most pre-fiat Ferraris. They were added as requested by the dealers.

    Regards,

    Art S.

PS. Superfasts are among my favorites.

Superfast is for me one of the most elegant Ferrari's ever made, right there alongside the Lusso.

I to would like to hear an opinion about what the superfast is like to drive, the few accounts I have read do say its a bit of a monster, huge ammout of power.

Correct, Art. My 330 2+2 and 330 GTC were both delivered without mirrors.

Also, my 1967 ALFA GTV came from the factory without mirrors but by 1967 Duetto had one. No radios in either.

    Interesting to know - Thanks!

Armen - You probably did - See my post above about spotting it on my way to work on a flatbed.
