yeah scud...stop playing the victim.
Aircon has two full days off. Reason; [Some threads are worth reopening. Others are just trolling. Two days for putting Oz-Chatters two steps *back* again. You're better than this, and as such, know better.] http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=99101 I found that thread in Pom Section "updated" and just shook my head at the absurdity of it. I actually encourage old posts be brought back, otherwise, there was no point in starting the thread to begin with. For example, one site I'm on often has threads reopened at any time 10 years later, and we consider it a good thing. The site is all about original thoughts and ideas, and the initial thread, or subject, if you will, must be unique, not having been thought of by any human in the history of mankind. To top it off, the ideas must be doable, not the stuff of fiction. Now, I have mentioned in the past that depending on the individual's personality, I may "embarrass" or "be rude" to that person, particularly, though not limited to when it comes to bans. Here's why; it's kind of like scolding a kid in public for misbehaving, so that the kid won't do it again. But, most importantly, the bottom line is that can only be done when you know that person is capable of being far greater. So, I give scud a hard time, and moreso, give him a hard time about "reading comprehension" so that he will somehow see that, which is what everyone wants. This is done in part so mates will offer the right support. And let me tell you, there are several who are advising him to do the right thing - that is, not just fitting in to the general population, but sharing his experience. My tactics may seem divisive, but, all along, I have waited for the rallying cry of "post the good stuff, scud" - not, "down with Aircon" nor "wax is [whatever]". His current nemesis, Aircon publicly agrees with his mates that scud and everyone else would be more than happy to see the real, greater scud in action again. I understand that Aircon irritates many with rehashing I-told-you-so's and that is boring, if not irritating. That was why I closed the recent threads, but, the site owner did not have a problem with the threads, and as such, the ban was lifted, and threads reopened. So, Aircon, listen to your mates, as they know more than I do, there is no greater collection of automotive appreciation than Oz. Likewise, scud, listen to your mates, as they know more than I do, there is no greater collection of automotive appreciation than Oz. I hope dragging up old things just to be methodically mad stops maddening not only F-Chat Oz, but AE, as well. While the method to my madness may not be understood - there is a method to the madness.
PP IS Aus F.Chat u have to consider him as the "godfather" of Ferrari's in Australia LONG LIVE PP!! Ciao, M
You haven't lived till you have been banned on Fchat /me looks at PAP Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah, that is a shame he hasnt been resurrected yet. FF too, for that matter. Bring them all back, its only the internet FFS!! PP has only 2 days in the slammer, he will be back before we know it! Unfortunately.......
1) Yeah but look at it this way. Have Rob ban you for like a week, then you will have every person in every section will start a thread wanting to know why etc, all coming together to free you. 2) Ban reduced from out cry. 3) ... 4) Profit 5) F430 Scuderia in your driveway 6) Speedcore visits Mt Isa
I reckon you would be 100% correct there. Haha! Hmmmm..... Hahaha!! Hahahahahaha!! Hahahahahahahahahahaha!! Awwwwwwwwwwwwww well.
big word for you I know, like sycophant for last year, this year your word is recalcitrant, go look it up or ask someone with a brain
I agree. But it is this whole country that is just too straight. Everything is to the letter of the law, with no common sense. I keep on remembering how much more pleasurable driving in many European countries is, where people drive over the speed limit, and other things. Providing you are driving safely, many police don't worry about it. The accident and death rates in European countries is over all no higher than here. There are many countries where the road laws are there, but there is some discretion and common sense in their enforcement. 1) Last weekend, I was stopped in the city (Melbourne), because my car was sticking out at an intersection when the lights turned red. There was road works blocking lanes on both roads, and a taxi pulled into my lane, preventing me from leaving the intersection till all the pedestrians had crossed. A police officer on foot came running over from the other side of the road to catch this criminal (me). I think if I wasn't driving a Ferrari, it wouldn't have happened. I am expecting a fine in the mail. The community is paying for this police officer to handle this minor incident, that is not a safety issue at all, instead of using his on duty time to do more important things. 2) A few weeks ago, I was driving a fairly exotic red car very sedately, when I see these flashing blue lights behind me. Saying to my female passenger, here we go again, I got out of the car. 2 police officers, one says I don't want to book you, but I want to ask some questions about the car and have a look. Okay, he was a car enthusiast, but it is not pleasant being pulled over by police, and the community is paying for his time. I could go on about some other instances, some in front of many onlookers, who were all on my side. They loudly voiced their criticism of police, and clapped when I got back into the car. Again there were no safety issues, just letter of the law stuff. I would be the first to say that police are needed, and in many serious circumstances do a splendid job, sometimes in difficult circumstances. But this sort of harrassment for petty things, is very bad PR for police. Even I (being a law abiding citizen), have developed some disdain for traffic police especially, following numerous negative experiences with them. And one final comment about road laws. I recently visited Vietnam, and was told by a local that traffic lights are advisory only. They do have a higher accident and death rate than here, even though the congestion and road conditions makes traffic much slower. No wonder.
