Noooooooooo CHRIS! You will regret it!!! DON'T DO IT!!! 40k miles REALLY? That is amazingly low! Be sure and zip over to Rennlist and put an ad up there, or do a little write up if you are serious and I'll put it over on Rennlist for you; though I would HATE to see you leave the 928 fold! Been driving my '88 S4 with 90k miles on it the last few days. WOW that car is awesome! RMB makes is sound SO SWEET TOO! James
My 88 928 S4 has ~~ 129,000 miles on it. Love it. Been trying to kill it but the motor just won't die. Black and tan.

Ok Chris, here are the basic specs: 1966 Austin Healey 3000 Mk lll BJ8 (owned since 1999) 150 hp straight six, dual SU HD8 carbs Top speed - factory rated at 125 - in reality I dunno, wouldn't want to know 1 footer - fully restored and detailed to show cond. (not concours due to some customization) Heritage custom leather interior, matching tonneau and cloth top 2600 lbs wet 4 speed manual w/overdrive in 3rd and 4th (making it functionally a 6 speed) Tons of torque - gearing is for cruising and back roads, not for straight line acceleration Monza free flow exhaust - VERY loud 72 spoke s/s Dayton wire wheels on Yokohama A321 (185V) rubber Handles like a dream - twisties are a blast - but of course it is 43 years old Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Yes, they are all over the board. That's because the vast majority of restored Healeys are quite a bit less than #1 condition. There are restorations and then there are RESTORATIONS. Ultimately the price of any collector car comes down to condition, quality of resto., motivation of seller, the market conditions and the position of the moon. My BJ8 is pegged (by me) at about $65k +/- which is a respectable but not outrageous value for a high quality show/driver level '66 BJ8. Some #1 cars restored by top-flight, well known restorers have sold at high profile auctions for $120k+. The classic car market is soft at the moment, not a great time to be selling but a great buyer's market. However, my cars aren't for sale.
