Is it me or should they both be in jail.WHo cares about this love affair as of late.I will have hate for McLaren to the grave. They suck. They have fanboys ranting "Oh we have the best engineers,we are the best team,"etc.Hard to prove sine they havent won a WCC since 98.THey had to stoop so low and scheme confidential info out of us.The 09 regs are so different that i think its legit wide open now(Force India frontrunners?..lol).I am a strong believer that there recent form in 07 and 08 were direct relation to the stolen data.Lewis, you're good and all,but you run with a team of b*tches and YOU ARE NOT the best driver on the grid. Not even top 5 wen it comes down to it.If it was a spec series you would be mid-field.These two punks not only avoid jailtime somehow but are also not formally punished(WTF!!!),and are now welcomed back.Coughlan works for Ricardo transmissions, and Stepney for onboard camera company Gigawave(another way to spy). They will do the same again, and when they do I call for atleast 15 to life.As for this little alliance between the Prancing Horse and the Chromeboys its purely political.Domenicalli deffinitely puts a booger on Ron Dennis when he hugs him.RD would do the same if he wasnt a p*ssy. They still hate each other put at a meeting someone probably thought a way to makes more green in these times is to be in harmony, get the softy fans back because they see harmony and hugs.Hey it's revenue.
As for the Stepneygate *****es,they will be in HELL!!

To be honest its a fair question... Look at your spelling for one.

I dont think stephney and coughlan should be in jail, as there where many more involved. I dont think anyone would want those two working for them anyways so its their loss in the end.

Thanks Jack, I was just kidding with Christian, because he seemed over the top on this issue. By the way I agree those two guys should probably be in the slammer for their actions, however I do agree more people were involved.

Well, good luck finding employment in this climate in racing!

Probably the reason they allowed it to pass. (Oh, and the legal issues they threaten against the FIA)

So if you don't think Hamilton is even among the top 5 drivers, then who are the 5 or more drivers who are better than he is?

Also, don't forget that Max has had a woody for McLaren for a long time, and McLaren were told that if there was ANYTHING on the 08 car that could be traced back to the Ferrari data, they would be DQed. McLaren even chose not to run certain things that they developed in case the FIA wanted to claim a Ferrari link.

In 2008, the Ferrari was by FAR the fastest car. If Schumi had still been driving, he would have wrapped up the WDC with at least 3-4 races left to go.

    How old are you? :)

I do agree however with your comment that Coughlan and Stepney should be in jail. After all they committed industrial espionage and (in Stepney's case) sabotage. It is a joke that they are free.

Also please refrain from dirty language and do not circumvent the spell checker or your days on here will be short lived.

Regarding the comment that Hambone isn't even in the current top 5 of best F1 drivers in the current grid, I have only one question:

How long have you been watching F1?

Massa, Rubens (!!!!!) and WEBBER (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) are better than Hamilton?

Oh god, that is pure comedy. I haven't laughed that long in quite a while.

The other two are on the same level as Hammy, I think... although Kimi let everyone down this year, and Alonso got his ass whipped by Hamilton last year. Those are indisputable facts.

I'm sorry but I can't take anyone seriously who purposely types in slang.

Did anyone actually read the articles on Autosport or am I the only person who noticed this?

Check out this article from Jan 30th, discussing Ferrari & McLaren's new-found "friendship" regarding the future of F1: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/73074

Now do you think that Max approved of this? OF COURSE NOT!

So just a week later on Feb 6th, Max decides to lift the restrictions placed on both Coughlan and Stepney because, according to Max, "...it does seem a little bit mad to make them serve out even longer when the two teams concerned are all making love to each other..." Which I feel is a direct reference to the new ties between McLaren and Ferrari. Article link: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/73154

Clearly you can see that the lifting of the restrictions is just Max's childish way of getting back at the teams for teaming up against him.

I really hopes he decides against running for re-election.

Amen ... everybody involved with F1 has cheated at some stage.

The only reason McLaren were fined was to make those outside the sport think there are ethics involved in the sport ... which there isn't. It's dog eat dog in F1 ... and quite rightly.

Can you imagine how pathetic F1 would be if ideas had to be unique, or patent protected and unstolen? ... heck I doubt if we'd be racing mid engined cars yet.

Also if you think Ferrari were not involved in this supposed scandal, then you are more naive than the child that was just conceived somewhere in the world a few seconds ago. Ferrari and Stepney already had issues ...

I'm pretty sure "industrial espionage" isn't a criminal offence in English law, it may be in Italy but I suspect not. If that is the case there is no question of them going to jail for that particular "offence", although some other "crime" might conceivably have been committed that would allow a criminal prosecution. However, if that were the case why was there no prosecution? If a criminal offence had been committed it was up to the state to decide whether it was appropriate to prosecute, the FIA would certainly have had no influence on that and Ferrari probably wouldn't have had either.
