If anyone here is interested, we're renting a 2 mile long runway about an hour from Miami on February 22nd.

We'll have a tent set up, serve breakfast/lunch and have beverages and snacks available throughout the day as the runway is pretty much in the middle of nowhere.

Good news though is that it's 2 miles long, smooth and if your car reach 200MPH you'll definitely be able to do it, and it'll be in a safe environment without having to worry about other cars or a nasty ticket...

We already have a bunch of cars signed up for the event including:
    TT Gallardos
    TT Ford GTs
    Diablo 6.0 Twin SC
    Enzo
    LP640s
    Carrera GT
    599
    GT2
    LP560-4s
    Gallardo SL
    Gallardo Spyders
    Ferrari 360/430
    Nissan GTR
    Saleen S7

    and more...

Possible appearances by Veyron and MC12.

This event is part of our SoBe Getaway Weekend trip, but we have opened this for everyone and you don't have to be signed up for the whole weekend to take part in the Runway portion of the Weekend.

PM or email for details and signup...

Let's see....the runway is an hour from Miami and it's 2 miles long..... does anyone have a clue where that might be?

Also, will medical personnel be on hand in case something goes wrong?

    Intresting airstrip....

    (Wikipedia)

"This isolated airport, located within the Florida Everglades, was originally planned to be the largest airport in the world. Begun in 1968, the Everglades Jetport was to be a six runway airport for supersonic aircraft. Because of environmental concerns, construction was halted after the completion of just one runway. The facility remains in use today as an aviation training facility."

Looks like fun, I still would like to know about spectators.

I was thinking about this last night...........If I did the math correct, wouldn't you need a longer runway???

At 200 MPH, you cover 2 miles in 0.6 minutes, or 36 seconds....... So, if within this 2 miles you also need to include the acceleration and braking part of this, you would only be able to see 200 MPH for a few seconds............

that is correct, not sure how long, but yes, i would imagine you would test your car at speed til you reached some kinda of red zone where you'd have to brake hard.

You can enter the runway while accelerating and exit while still braking
