Just a few for me today... First was a Phantom at Butler Tire, then was a 550 at Terminus...it had a hand written "Tag applied for" plate on the back of it. Finally was a dark blue Ford GT at Bones Restaurant on Piedmont, these cars are amazing in person and I've only seen a few of them out and about. Typically, we let Quattroportes and the W12 Bentleys go because they're just too common. I've found this is impossible to explain to my girlfriend, who can't understand why I will park the car and run to get a better picture of "some Porsche" (the 'GT2' model designation being lost on her) but I won't even glance at a Maserati in the next lane. A few cars from me tonight: - black Aston-Martin Vanquish S on dealer plates at Phipps Plaza. - silver Ferrari 550 Maranello on, as Andrew mentioned, home-made temporary plates ("Tag Applied For" was written on a piece of paper in red Sharpie) at Terminus valet. - black Porsche 911 GT2 [997] at Terminus valet. Tonight was a great night - the Vanquish S, 997 GT2, 550 Maranello and Ford GT are four seriously rare cars. I guess that temperature bump motivated a few people to enjoy themselves for a night out. Channel 2 news this morning showed what looked like a dark metallic blue Ford GT wrapped around a telephone pole overnight, not sure if it was a fatality but it was bad.
My first car spotted was a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo that was exiting I-285 at Roswell Road. Second, also on I-285 traveling west, was a silver Ferrari 360 Modena coupe. Third was a black Lamborghini Murcielago roadster on Lenox road. This car had Florida tags and sounded great -the rear tail pipes appeared to be aftermarket due to it's sound and design. Fourth was a red Ferrari 360 spider parked at Fogo De Chao, this car also had Florida tags with after market wheels. Fifth was the same blue Ford GT that Andrew posted at Bones. Today was another good day... Started off with a CLK63 Black Series at Intercontinental, the first time I have seen this particular car. Next was some old car from the 1929, I asked the owner what it was and he said it was a Potenis, or something that sounds like that...I'd never heard of it before. He also had a hand written "tag applied for" plate covering an actual Georgia license plate which was kind of weird. Next was the spot of the day, a 430 Scuderia at a shopping center on Pharr Rd and then again at PetSmart on Peachtree. I really like the look of this car because I had no idea that it was a Scuderia until I saw the back of the car and the exhausts. Next were a pair of Vantages, one at Starbucks in Brookhaven, the other at Peachtree and Lenox Rd. Next was an older Jaguar XK series I think and a Phaeton and finally was a Maserati Spyder on Roswell Rd. It should be interesting to see what all shows up tonight because most of these were in the span of about 2 hours this afternoon. Gotta love this weather! I couldn't find a link at WSB, but recorded the noon news...definitely a dark blue Ford GT sans stripes, same wheels, went airborne on Northside Drive near West Wesley just after midnight and slammed into a tree. Driver taken to hospital after being removed w/the jaws of life...alcohol blamed, passenger refused treatment. If I were a betting man, I'd say we have pictures here of that very car before the accident. Didn't have my camera, saw a Titanium gray GT w/silver stripes pulling out of the Kroger parking lot near Northlake Mall.
The first three cars tonight were all at the same place -Lenox Mall. A Lamborghini LP640 roadster in blue (Jeezy's), a white Lamborghini Gallardo, and a blue Lamborghini Murcielago (Chris's). Fourth tonight was a Yellow Ferrari F430 spider at Phipps general parking. Fifth was a black Ferrari 612 Scaglietti at Houstons. Andrew (ZonderF) nice spot on the Scuderia!!!! The photo's look great too. West Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks, your Lambo pic is awesome too! It's also good to see that 612 again, it's been months since any of us have seen that car and it used to be a regular in the area.
You guys hear bout that "race" between Bow Wow and Soulja Boy in their Lambos. Very stupid......and they cant even pronounce it right. "Ga gar go" http://www.carzi.com/2009/02/06/bow-wow-vs-soulja-boy-lamborghini-show-video/ Warning: Video may be offensive to some. Posted b/c West mentioned Jeezy's lambo....which is shown in the second video (response from Bow Wow).....and possibly the blue lambo w/ the rims we see everywhere.
A huge amount of spots on Saturday, including a 430 Scuderia courtesy of Andrew (ZonderF). - dark gray Aston-Martin DB9 on Peachtree over Georgia 400. Apologies for the poor photo. - black Bentley Arnage on Florida plates at Phipps Plaza's valet. - white Bentley Continental convertible (an older, rather uncommon model) on Piedmont near Lenox Road. - red Dodge Viper SRT-10 on University of Georgia plates on Lenox and Peachtree. - silver Dodge Viper SRT-10 on Georgia plate ONESTOP at Phipps Plaza's valet. - gray Ferrari 360 Modena on BlazeSports plates at Phipps Plaza. Apologies for that horrible photo, but I never did find the car again for a better one. - black Ferrari 430 Scuderia at PetsMart off Peachtree. Here's another angle. Thanks again for the tip, Andrew - it's my first 430 Scuderia spot! - black Ferrari F355 Spider at Peachtree and Piedmont. - black Ferrari Mondial 3.2 Cabriolet on Peachtree near Piedmont. - silver Mercedes CLK63 Black Series at the Intercontinental and then again later at Phipps Plaza. Lastly, I also caught a silver Mercedes E55 AMG wagon turning from Peachtree onto Wieuca Road. It's not exotic, but it's rarer than nearly all of the above cars. Not a bad day for a Sunday Started with a Viper SRT/10 Coupe on Roswell Rd. The next two were both moving so they were pretty tough shots, a Viper SRT/10 and a 430 Spyder. Next was a Phantom at Phipps (finally something parked at Phipps, they have been really lacking for cars the past few weeks), and finally was a DB9 convertible, I tried to get a better picture but as he drove by me he almost ran over me so all I have is this through the fence shot. This was the same one I saw a few weeks ago that had the strange quad exhaust and I was really surprised to find that it did not sound any different than a regular DB9, and was actually pretty quiet. Also, while I'm thinking about exhaust sounds, I saw a Gran Turismo S going the opposite direction on my way to work and that thing sounds AMAZING!! It has to be one of the best sounding cars I've hard in a while. As for these guys, they are both idiots, I wouldn't be surprised to see both of their cars end up the way that Jeezy's first one did because they are obviously not smart enough to handle these cars, and I've seen firsthand how stupid Bow Wow is with his car. As for the cars in the garage in the video with Bow Wow's Murcielago, I see Jeezy's and also another white Gallardo, which I'm guessing is the one that was parked at Lenox last night that West (Horse-power) saw. Now it's off to bed for 2 whole days, doctor's orders....somehow I came down with the flu. Caught me again... I was on my way to buy a new coat at fileen's basement... I never see you guys taking the pics.... if youre ever interested in seeing the car up close just let me know... happy to give you a ride as well.
Yea, those young kids are pretty dumb and dont know the true potential of those cars. Hopefully nothing tragic happens. Anyway, get better man. We need you out on the streets
This audi r8 is driven by some teacher or someone on campus. See it quite often, but its the first time posting on this thread. This guy uses this R8 hard.....he was late to workout i assume and he sped through the lot then ran to go workout. When I peered through the drivers window.....the floor and the seat was quite a bit dirty. Good to see this guy actual using a car as it was meant to.....R8 or no R8. +1 in my book. Second picture is me.....after working out. Hope I didnt run it....hehehe Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
isn't there a prof at GT who is a big car guy? Remember seeing a light blue M5 and maybe a Porsche in the past. seem to recall he had either invented something or been part of a start-up and made quite a bit of $$.
Yea, there is a professor on campus who owns a E60 and I think had a E39 but gave it to his sister or something. He also has a 993 turbo. All the cars are daily drivers and see them quite often near the ME building....right across from the CRC. I keep forgetting his name.....and he did something to make some big money. When I figure out who he is again, ill post on here. But that prof. doesnt own the R8 though. This was from a different guy.
Yea, I would say so. I finally figured out his name......Robert Speyer. He is a 5th degree black belt with over 33 years experience. I sure wouldnt want to mess with him. Here is his page and what he does at Georgia Tech. http://www.mse.gatech.edu/FacultyStaff/MSE_Faculty_researchbios/Speyer/speyer.html
After being sick for a few days, it was nice to get out and see some cars. Started off with a 360 in valet at Lenox, a NSX and IS-F in general parking also at Lenox. Later on were a Maybach 57 on Michigan plates and a 430 also in valet at Lenox. The last two were together at Terminus, a yellow Gallardo Spyder and a black R8 parked side by side. Quite a few cars out today, but naturally I missed the best one, that Maybach 62 on Michigan tags - damn it!! Here's what I did see: - gray Aston-Martin V8 Vantage on Florida plates on Lenox Road near Phipps Drive. - black Audi R8 on temporary plates at Terminus valet. - red Dodge Viper RT/10 on Bibb County plate TOPTHIS on Peachtree near Piedmont - red Dodge Viper RT/10 in a parking lot near Lenox Mall. - black Ferrari 360 Modena on Florida plates first at Lenox Mall and then driving past Lenox on Peachtree. - black Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder on Piedmont at Lenox Road. - yellow Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder at Terminus valet. - white Maybach 57S on 'Fight Breast Cancer' plates on Lenox Road near Peachtree. - white Rolls-Royce Phantom on Oregon 'Cultural Trust' plates reading LOYAL1 first at Phipps Plaza and then on Lenox Road near GA-400. I really suck at getting the names of the cars right. I also forgot to put up the pic of the 430 so here it is Image Unavailable, Please Login
There is a recording studio pretty close to Tech and recently there has been a maybach. I didnt think of anything of it at first......yeppie, maybach and then kept driving. But, curiosity finally caught up and decided that i would take a closer look. Turns out it is a Maybach 62S owned by R Kelly who comes there often. Yes, you read that correctly. So next time I see it, I will def. take some pics. for you guys.
