My pleasure to help you out with the provkörning question. One of the pics of 1120002 on ILR shows your brochure car, so i got confused with the interior colour of 002 and 082.
I think he is busy with the Ferrari supercar thread, discuss values of the F40s and so on Seriously, im also intrested in thoose files and the gentleman called Corti Albino, is he the first owner?
F40 is a very important car (I like it, too - F40 is THE supercar of the 80's while LP400 is THE supercar of the 70's - just my opinion), but Joe is a Lamborghini man and he will return Albino Corti is said to have been the first owner of 1120002 - at least he "officially" was its first owner.
Alex, your car is wonderful! I took this picture at the Lamborghini factory during the 2007 CountMiu meeting. Lorenzo (with best regards from Dario and Lello...) Image Unavailable, Please Login
1120002 - Corti Albino*, April 8th ready at the factory, delivered April 8th 1974 1120004 - Scottu Antonio*, May 8th 1974 ready at the factory, delivered May 14th 1974 1120006 - Walter Wolf, May 31st ready at the factory, delivered June 8th 1974 1120008 - Lamborauto Torino, June 26th ready at the factory, delivered July 4th 1974 1120010 - Achilli Motors/Gianfranco Innocenti, July 5th ready at the factory, delivered July 26th 1974 * As Graphicar/Lorenzo points out, sometimes "names" of anyone could be used to order the car to conceal the identity of the true owner. These names could be anyone at all, a family member, a mechanic who worked for the ordering party, Ive seen it all!
I will post a photo in the evening. I hope I will not forget. My understanding is that every car which was produced after 1120010 had five slits. Concerning 1120010, I don't know. Does someone here have a photo of 1120010? I'd also be thankful for a photo of 1120080 which shows the original livery of the car before it was "winged". This giallo fly/tabacco car was, in 1975, originally delivered to Germany. Can someone provide old photos of 1120080?
There is a while I was considering to share with you my missing Countach #KLA-12432 back in 1995. Not that it was the best of them as it was a 25th Anniversary, but it gave me so much joy & thrill (as an everyday use by that period) that none "italian make up Audi" never provides me... I was 3rd owner, 1st one was Moneytron Inc owned by a genius crock JP Van Rossem in Belgium, 2nd was a Maserati dealer Pascal Heuchamps who resprayed it in "Emerald metallic" and then me. After a year, it was again in several other Belgian hands untill sold in 1998 by an auction to his last knew Belgian owner who had it resprayed in its original color, metallic red. That guy's dream was to fully convert it with an Offshore engine and while doing it's first ride during the night with that engine...headlights have taken off, reason of later front fenders modifications. That guy deceased without playing too much with his toy and I believe it was sold last year by his widow. One day or another, I will come back for a Countach, don't know yet which one...but not a 25th Anniversary ! Any suggestions guys ? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Pictures of a Countach with an "Offshore" engine? This is an interesting idea but I doubt it would "bolt in".
We discussed this in another forum and Chad Bolles said it's impossible because the marine engine are lot bigger, even putting a diablo engine into the narrow frame of a CT would cause heavy headaches. When you look at this brochure, the only one which could fit in would be the 5000s series which looks similar to the CT/diablo unit, but why use such an engine when you can install a car engine, power development is done for a boat not a car... http://www.countach.ch/marine/
The only thing I see is an injected 4 valve engine with rusty headers, there is nothing which indicates this could be a marine engine.
I don't judge the car in any way, my opinion is that this looks like a regular 25th engine, look at the intake collectors, obviously not diablo, they are from a 25th: http://www.lambocars.com/hr/cou/25th71a.htm The way the water tubes are routed indicate it was a carbed car: http://www.lambocars.com/hr/cou/25th88a.htm I don't know which spec this car was, obviously it was modded in a personal manor, what I'm quite sure is that this engine looks stock except the intake, I know quite a number of cars which were converted from carbed to injected and vice versa.
Yes, the photo was made in Paris. The car was showed to us by Neldo Levy from Autodrome. I don't know which CD that is, on the envelope I can read "Le Monde". Much more interesting is the owners manual for the Philips radio. The car still had its original Philips radio, but unfortunately I did not care for that radio owners manual. I did not even make a detailed photo of the radio. Silly.
It's not a CD but a parking disc...you roll it to match the hour arriving and it gives you time delay to leave...
What you have here is a standard Eu carburetted Annivesario converted to injected. Note the fuelie-spec engine cover in the background (in the head-on image) lying on the ground Headlamps modified to covered fixed units, radiator air scoops modified for increased airflow, etc.
