There is record of a special order 150S couple being made in 1957. Does anyone know the chassis number or what might have happened to this car? Walter?

    Hello guys,
No, am afraid that is not the 150 S Coupé that was mentioned. The photo clearly shows an A6G2000 Zagato. I am not at home now and I do not know offhand which one, but with the distinctive louvres and central fin on the bonnet and with the larger grille surround and the French plate it should be easily identifiable by someone.
Back to the 150 S Coupé, it does not ring a bell.
I do know of and have seen the one-off 150 S Convertible or Spider roadcar. At the time it was white or off-white, it is red with black now.
Do you mean that one by any chance?
    Best regards,
    Michaël

Yes, it was chassis #3059 when it was in Australia.
To get the car accepted in the GT-class the then-time-owner put that roof on it. Later this silly conversion was removed and the car restored to its original specification. Chassis #3059 is perhaps (-and in my opinion!-) the best 300S around.

For more details see my book "The Maserati 300S" published by www.daltonwatson.com

    Ciao!
