If there is negative stuff on the other forums, they either didn't attend or didn't understand the focus in the first place. Your attitude is the very thing we're trying to avoid. We had a great event, and everyone who understood the focus and participated had a great time. The only ones who have posted any negative comments so far are those who were never a part of the focus anyway. Tell me, do you also take this same attitude to classic car shows too?

Vic, Tommy: Thanks for putting the effort in to make this such a success. Your diplomacy skills and restraint on posting and maintaining the focus are exemplary. Nicely done.

Jason: Your pictures are astounding. Quelle surprise!

Great to see everyone today! I refrained from approaching Sir Mix-a-lot (preferring to give him his space), but kudos to him for coming down and hanging with us car-crazy types!

TypeRryan: Obviously you're just trolling, but the *point* of exotics is not speed. 0-60 times are great for teenage-boy comparisons on the playground, but the reason that people buy these cars is about how they make you *feel* when you're sitting behind the wheel. Performance is just one component of the package, for many the history of the marque, the styling, the exclusivity, the sounds of the engine, all factor much more predominantly than any statistic about the car's performance. Sharing that passion with others who may not be in a position to enjoy the cars is something that brings a lot of joy to owners, such as myself. You'll find that the owners of exotics get a big kick out of giving back when they car, whether it's taking residents of VA convalescent homes out for a ride, or letting sick kids at the Ronald McDonald house enjoy the cars; it's all part of trying to give back a little to the community. Not trying to sound trite here, because it's only a small thing, but it's clearly a point that you seem to be missing from your posts. I am not defined by the car that I drive, and neither should you be. What defines us is our respect for others and the cars they drive, regardless of budget.

Paul your diplomacy skills put mine to shame. Thanks for adding so much to the event. We were just in that conversation at lunch when you walked by. Sir Mix is a serious car guy and we hope to have him join us often. Thank John for bringing him out.

Yea, when we put up the website, we should add this. It's incredibly well said.

Sorry I didn't make it today, one of my very few Saturdays off but ended up selling car parts, pruning trees and doing maintenance on the Bimmer.

A few more pictures from today, just for fun. Had a great morning--it was great chatting with everyone and seeing people have such a good time. Although I can't wait to do this in the springtime--I think it took halfway through lunch for my hands to finally thaw out!

This was really well said and resembles a lot closer the reality of the events as opposed to the speculation. A couple came up to me with their son telling me how much he loved my car. I was all to happy to share. If all you want to do is talk about how car A is better than car B, you're really not a car guy after all.

Tommy, Vic, thanks for arranging the event, it was a great turnout and I was glad to be there. While there may be a limited supply of great cars, it was nice to see there was not a limited supply of great people.

    Hi everyone,

I've attached the current weather predictions that go right up to Friday, I haven't seen anything for Saturday yet.
Weather being good, I'll be there.

Well according to Steve it might be raining by Saturday...

We all know how that can change around here though. As long as it's not raining too hard I will try to make it over this week. The next couple weeks after are looking busy for me.

BTW, I think you guys are all getting "sucked in" by responding to "TypeRryan". Come on, with a stereotype name like that (everyone makes fun of the "Type R" moniker, so who would use that in their name? ;) ), I believe this is simply a made up character, and one of you guys is trying to troll here and see what kind of hornets nest you can stir up! :)

My assumption was similar, that it was someone made up by the organizers to highlight the type of person that this event was not meant for. The problem is, you never can tell for sure. The sad reality is, there are people that dumb out there. =/
