Do you really thnk so? An Enzo under full acceleration in Race mode with ASR off is pretty darn scary shifitng at 8000 rpm. It's about the same weight as a US F40 with almost 200 more HP. It's a normally-aspirated wild animal that even makes a CGT feel ordinary.

And the Stradale baby Enzo is not too far behind.

There were 1315 F40's made. I love the 308 - I've got a 76 GTB and ultimately all of the 328/288/348/355/360 etc come from this model. But ...have you been for a ride in an F40 lately Nevada Bob? Its abit different to any of these basically you'll **** your pants. When thoses turbos bome on at 4500rpm there isn't another car like it. Sure Enzo , F50 are true super cars but they are no where near as raw. The F40 steering and turbo rush (it feels like 750hp when those come in) make it much more race car like. I can't think of any common parts from the others (could be wrong here). And please don't even mentiom F40 and 360 strad as comparable - I drove a strad and its underpowered and not an event like the F40. Now a strad is just a (lightly) moded 360 with an extra 25 hp.

But price wise - I think there underpriced.

John - he just doesn't get it! Personally I love my modified 308, the similarities between the two though are uncanny, carbonfibre bodywork for instance........?!!

Absolutely, I've ridden in an Enzo and an F40 and the F40 is much more visceral. I don't car about stats, I'm basing my info off of personal experiences.

I really doubt it. You have no idea how many Ferraris I've driven and ridden in.

I've banned for a lot less. Guy owns two Ferraris (355 and 512BB, both of which if you sold them, might bring 100k total), decides to denigrate someone else. Been on the board less than 2 years. Go figure.

I'm sorry to say that the ignorant poster who said the F40 is a modified 308 is so clearly out of his league here it's actually quite funny.
The F40 under full acceleration in 1st, 2nd and 3rd is frighteningly quick, where a twitch of your hands on the wheel will have you spinning like a top in a nanosecond. No other Ferrari will do that in the same way.
I've been fortunate enough to have driven all of the Ferrari Super Cars (and owned several). I've tracked them and even drove an Enzo in the rain at Fiorano. It's a heavy, huffing, puffing kittycat compared to the F40.
There is nothing like it. The 288 is close but simply doesn't have the same immediacy and massive torque that the F40 has under full power.

This is a car that like no other modern Ferrari, defines the brand.

Read his attack on me. Posted my opinion the f40 is a hotrodded 308 then calls me ignorant and can't spell weak attacks. I had a few beers when I posted it was a bit harsh at the time but is what it is

    Wow....

What new V8 is faster? None of the new V8's that I know of do over 200. And who cares if they did. They don't offer the "rawness" of the F40. They is a reason so many consider the F40 to be the best Ferrari ever.

Really, are you aware the chassis is totally different? You need to do alot more research before making incorrect statements like you are....

Those that say I am ignorant too funny. Anyone that's somewhat mechanical can see the f40 is based on the 308 and shares the same platform and design some clearly take that as an insult but its what the car is surely not a clean sheet design yes its turbocharged and fast mke has a supercharged 308 that has big power as well that I am sure is visceral

The F40 DOES NOT share the 308 chassis. Maybe 10% of the parts are shared, total.

Really now. Its a tubeframe design like the 308 reinforced in areas and streached vs the 308 with carbon fibre bodywork

I'll say it again. Research....there are alot more differences then that. Just because it is a tube-frame does not mean it's the same thing....

No no he has a point. I am off to the garage tomorrow to trade in my F40 against a 308 I have clearly been duped and overpaid substantially!

Too bad my feet are too big, and your steering wheel is on the wrong side. Sell it cheap enough, and maybe we can convert it to a left hand drive 308, with a very strong motor.

correct, but they were done by Pinnfarina, not by Ferrari, hence Ferrari dont look at them as F40's, thus making it a car converted after assembly by the factory...
