The other night I was at Hollywood Park playing cards and next to me a younger guy sits down wearing a very nice "430 SCUDERIA" hat. Not wanting to be nosy, and not being "in the club" of owners myself, I try to make a joke and feel him out.

"When I win the lottery, that's the car I am buying" I say.

"Do you know how much they cost?" he replies.

"I am pretty sure I do" I tell him, and that was it.

So I have a couple of questions for you owners here:

    1. Outside of a Ferrari event, do OWNERS actually wear Ferrari apparel?
    2. If so, is it to try and engage other owners and/or semi-informed enthusiasts to your passion?
    3. Am I to assume that the guy who sat down next to me is NOT an owner since I inquired and he did not say something like, "well you will love it, it is incredible to drive." That seems like what I would say.

So where do you guys stand on Ferrari apparel?

I wear my hat to Fcar events sometimes. That's it. I figure the clothing is mostly for non owners.

I wear a hat or something like that couple days a week - just because I love Ferrari. Not much thought after that. I like to leave the house and have a little scuderia in "there somewhere" close by ;-)

I LOVE Ferrari hats and apparel. :D:D

Mainly Ferrari hats though. I only have one Ferrari shirt that I wear occasionally. :):)

Never while driving the 348, but I wear a Ferrari hat nearly everyday. So most times I drive the 348, its with a Ferrari hat on. :D:D

I find the new stuff rather vulgar and too "hip hop" I'm not wearing it except for a white Raikonen hat

I usually wear NART or FCA shirts and hats at Ferrari events or car shows

I have some older F clothes that I find much more tasteful than the new stuff that I may wear once in a while

I'm Italian and have been following F1 since my first @ "THE GLEN" in 76 at 8yrs old. I always wear some sort of F gear whether hat, crew shirt, sweat jacket whenever I feel like it. I finally got my car last year and have always worn the gear for as long as I've been a fan. Just like any fan of any sports team. BTW, I really could care less about what other people think. I can back it up with knowledge and history of the finest automotive name in history, Scuderia Ferrari.

I'll usually wear the hat when I take the car out for a ride and sometimes to the gym. I wear the Fcar golf shirt or Tshirt to race/club events. That's about it.

A lot of the clothing with the logo on it is a little too over-the-top for my tastes.
I like the more subtle use of the cavallino or the Ferrari script logo.
So, things like a small cavallino symbol on a golf shirt is good.
Or, an embossed cavallino on a casual jacket.

Also, I don't wear more than one logo'd item at a time.

A lot of non-car people think the cavallino logo is the Ralph Lauren Polo logo anyways. :)

Agree with the over the top comment. If they would make some more conservative gear I would be much more likely to wear it, but a strange at this may sound, I don't want to cram the fact that I have a Ferrari down others' throats, so I am cautious about what I wear.

Interesting in only that in just about EVERY other part of my life I could give a crap what others think, and when I am driving it I don't care either, but this topic makes me cautious/humble.

I do wear my khaki 348 brotherhood hat about 2-3 times a week.

I used to wear Ferrari apparel a lot more when I didn't have the car. Now I wear it a lot less. I do wear the caps occasionally.

Just a cap that I wear in the car when the sun is in my eyes. I have a shirt somewhere that someone gave me. It's still in the original wrapper.

Took the kids and wife to the Chicago Auto Show yesterday. Just as was we were about to walk out the door. My wife says aren't you going to wear your ferrari fall jacket to the show? You know , I hadn't really thought about it. Been a long time and I really enjoyed wearing it and showing the flag if you know what i mean. If you can't wear it there where can you wear it? Lots of guys and kids walking around wearing chevy and Harley jackets! My oldest boy was afraid that wearing a jacket like that was a sign of bragging and showing off. I told him it was a sign of how much I appreciate what Ferrari stands for. No one should be afraid to stand up fort he things that we admire in life. I say be proud and show the colors. Especially if you happen to own one!

I guess I'll echo the HUBBSTER, I have tons of the real TH crew gear, not so much the newer stuff.
And I rarely wear the hats, so I rotate between the same well worn TH jacket, or a nice all weather coat FOH Race Team sold me long ago.....

I am probably opposite of most owners, though, when the Club sees me in a regular suit it's a rare occasion!

I wear the crew shirts when I have to make a public appaeranace of any sort....it helps as a conversation starter, in a crwod of 600 people they'll say "That must be YOUR car outside..." :D

IMO Ferrari clothes are tacky. Pretty much any automobile or corporate-sponsored clothing is too though, so don't take it as a personal attack against the brand. The merchandizing to "supporters" of the brand exists simply as a revenue stream for said brand and is in no way fashionable, cool, classy or tasteful.

If I'm at Cars & Coffee and I see a guy wearing a bright red Ferrari pit shirt and hat I cringe. I mean c'mon, are you twelve years old? If you have a Ferrari, let the car speak for itself; I can promise it wears the logo better on it's body than you do :)

Again, my opinion but I do like men's fashion and nice clothes.

    Cheers,

    -w-

I have a lot of gear but I only wear when I'm in my SRT-8 magnum. I love when people look at me with that look at the guy with his mom's station wagon. He is wearing a Ferrari jacket. I always chuckle a little inside.

A close friend created this shirt for me to wear at autocross events (in my Huron Formula Vee or MG Midget)

She added Fiat and Lancia badges since I am a die hard fan (currently have a Lancia Thema 8.32 that is powered by the Ferrari 308 quatrovalvole)

I would not get caught driving on the street in this...a bit much, even for me!!

    A nice gesture nevertheless.

I have a pair of Puma MS racing shoes, and a couple shirts. And except for using the shoes to drive the car, I never wear them. The car offers far more to the world at large, that me dressing up like a billboard detracts more than it adds, IMHO. Leave the Ford and Chevy jackets to those guys, they need that stuff more than we do.

I only wear a Ferrari Polo shirt to a car event. If I could find polo shirts with a small Ferrari horse on the left chest like Ralph Lauren"s "Polo" I would probably wear that out shopping. But the ones with the BIG Shield, no that is for car shows. I do have a Ferrari Pit watch that I wear sometimes.
