I ask because on the NART 330 P #26 in this same race the right side number is on a white rectangular background like the 206 GT, but on the left door the number is on the more usual white roundal. Just came across this incredible thread. The breath of knowlege is amazing. My former business partner, Sy Kaback, raced in the 60's. He was passionate and the stories he told were great. Sy raced some Ferrari's, but became the dealer for Lotus here in NY and raced Lotus mostly. One of his best friends was Dave Clark. A fellow who bought a Lotus that was sold by Sy called me inquiring about it. I was not involved with Sy at that time so I refered him to Sy personally. The result of that meeting was a website that has some great pictures of his cars and some commentary on his races. If you're interested it can be found at www.simplesevens.org/sykaback.

A few more from the same German photography website. I love the 2 valve 312 F1's. This was Surtees last Ferrari F1 victory and race due to Ferrari politics. If Dragoni had been told to shut up Ferrari could have won the 1967 F1 title. Photos taken at Spa in 1966. His other photo is at Nurburgring in 1965. The penultimate b/w shot of Surtees standing beside the 312 is from practise - the car in the background is the BRM p261 (s/n 2615) of Bob Bondurant #8, which was dark green in practise but painted white/green before the race to stand in as a 'Yamura' for the Frankenheimer film 'Grand Prix'. (ironically it crashed out on the first lap) Paul M

Hello Mr. Massini, I yesterday purchased the book "Ferrari - Träume in Rot" (Dreams in Red) by Pietro Carrieri. It shows fotos of a car looking like 6313 (probably the same fotos as in the above mentioned Cavalleria Series book). But some details of that car make me wonder if it's the real one: Red door markings on LEFT side. Venting-openings under front grille. After all the describtion by Doug Nye does not identify the shown car as 6313. Above all I would like to make clear that I'm no expert and don't want to put the identitiy of that car in question. I'm just a fan asking the experts. Regards, Till.
More "new" old shots from the German photography website. The ATS shot was to funny to resist. As far as I can see everything by these two photographers was shot at SPA and Nurburgring. This was just sent to me.... Chal Hall is in the pits getting ready for his race in the TestaRossa (at that time I believe this car was Chevy powered). It is Sugarman's car(also of Phoenix, AZ - #0680) and Hall doesn't know it atthis time, but the race ahead of him will be fateful as he ends up flipping the car and catching it on fire. *Hall would escape injury but I believe this would be his last race. When he shared this photo with me we laughed at the situation in the pits as he is grabbing his crotch. Ireferred to the photo as "Testie Rossa" which made him laugh (the only time in our three hour meeting) prompting him to state without doubt that he certainly escaped "roasting his nuggets" after the car flipped. He told me that he got out of racing after seeing too many of hisfriends drive and die at the wheel [
Does anyone have photos from the 1968 Canadian Grand Prix ? Another one that slipped from Chris Amon's grasp, he led for the first 72 laps before bad luck arrived again.
I have attached an enlarged photo I scanned from an older Vintage Mptorsports magazine that was misscaptioned according to contributors to the old Ferrari Telio forum. I was informed that it was actually Bruce Kessker in a NART 860 Monza #4 from Lime Rock 1958. The next photo is by David which I assume is the same car at the same race. Third is a photo from the BARCboys.com site of Kessler at a Formula Libre race at Watkins Glen the same year. Is it the same car and still blue? Thank you. The chassis number of Kuhn´s Maserati 200SI is one of the unsolved mysteries of Maserati. Regards Wolfi
