The pic is pretty graphic so you are warned....

Basically it is one kid, about 3 with the tiger jumping on to him about to get him in the neck and throw him to the ground. The other kid, a girl about 4 seems to have just dodged a secound tiger.

    Horrible story.....

There was (seriously) a chimpanzee attack on a woman in Greenwich, CT over the weekend. Before you laugh, consider that the chimp weighed 200 lbs.

Why do people have an attraction to animals like this? As a conservative, I am against big gov't, but this smacks of needed intervention... :(

A bengal tiger (I believe it was) attacked two people at the SF Zoo a year ago Christmas, one fatal. The Lion just 'got out' of the holding - viewing area and wandered around before the attacks. Pretty sad when events like this happen.

The SF tiger was in an enclosure that while within guidelines, was not as restricitve as newer enclosures. IIRC it was 12' while most are 15' high.

The brothers it attacked had been teasing it and were drunk at the time. The tiger was agitated and in that state was able to leap out of the enclosure.

His owner had given him a Xanax earlier in the day because he was agitated. When he attacked his victim, his owner got a kitchen knife and stabbed him to defend her friend. When he attacked the police they shot him numerous times and he retreated to his room in the house where he died.

I don't know what the answer is but it seems like a tragedy for all involved.

Sure looks like the younger brother is doing his best to defend his sister. He seems to be trying to bite the tiger! Brave young man, I must say!.

Correct...BUT! The zoo should have made the fence 15' high in the first place. 12' is not that high when you think about it.
The brothers it attacked had been teasing it and were drunk at the time
You would think that the park 'officials' should have spotted that on the closed circuit monitors. If I were in the cafeteria when one of the tigers walked in, I would have crapped my pants!

Peter - then someone will say 'the fence should have been 18' ' and then some dickhead will provoke them a few years down the road, and then they will say 21', it never ends (I know, I'm exagerrating, but you know what I mean).

I don't think this is the fault of anyone besides the drunks.

I dunno, if a couple of drunk guys wandered into my house and provoked me, I'd probably shoot 'em.

If Siegfried and Roy can bounce back from a tiger attack, the kids will be fine. Kids are resilient.
