I missed a few years ago the chance of my lifetime to buy a McLaren F1 for 1,2 Mio. EUR as I did not have the neccessary change. Today cars are offered for twice that money. But so life goes. For me the F1 is still one of the best looking sportscars ever. Of course we could fill a whole thread with details about that car, from the kool three seats to that fantastic BMW engine (still remember about Nocken Paule, that famous BMW man?) and great handling.

So I observe with great interest the development of a new McLaren, internal code P11. Some British magazines have already shown some "Erlkönig" shots of the car.
If someone here should have further photos, information etc please put it in this thread. Thx.

By the way, what are You thinking of this new 430Scud opponent?

Here are some information I have sampled about the car:
Weight should not be more than 1250 kg, which sounds quite promising
The engine will come from AMG Mercedes and may have about 600 bhp.
The doors will either be the same as on the F1 or Gullwing.

My thoughts are, that the engine may have similarities with the engine of the SLR successor from Mercedes. I saw and heard that car last year on the Nürburgring and I can confirm that the engine has a great sound, at least from outside.

Sounds cool. with 600hp and 1250KG, won't it be more of an enzo/FX70 competitior than the scud though?

What did the engine sound like, V12 or V8? either way it should be nice, judging from the Zonda and SLR V12/V8 :).

I would say the engine on the SLR successor sounded very much like a V8, to me those AMG V8 engines have some Nascar sound in it.
The car I saw was still very much "camouflaged" and the engine was not on full throttle as it came back from a test drive and was returning to the Continental test center which sits right beside the Ring.
