    Hello Gentlemen,

I would like to know if I can purchase an Enzo in Europe or outside of North America and plate it in Quebec,Canada.

I'm looking to acquire an Enzo very soon....but Nothing in the U.S is pleasing to me and I saw a very nice one in the U.K.

I have 2 of my friends which got them in the U.S and plated them in Canada without a problem.....but they dont know if we can bring them in from Europe or else where outside N-A.

Please help me if you can, I do have my usual broker looking into it for me, but its the weekend and he wont get back to me before the beginning of the week...

    Thanks in Advance!!

    CL.

While with Ferrari, I was told that:
There were manufactured for NORTH AMERICAN specification, a total of 55 such cars{52 or 53 survive, not really certain here}-PERIOD

Due to the wording of the Clean Air Act, and is impending implementation at that time, the first cars made in the entire run of F50s were, defacto, these 55...
all in order to-ostensibly-avoid the OBD-2 classifiacion and requirements, and, even more specifically/importantly, the DUAL air-bag requirement.

There exists a small-and everyone who play in this arena knows exactly which ones I refer to-sub grouping of additional, NON-conforming, NON-NorthAmerican specification cars which-while not manufactured specifically for this market-do fall within the razor thin allowances/boudaries to be included within the "modify and test" programs and procedeures.
This is what was known in the 1970s and early/moid 1980s as : "the Grey Market"....getting things which we are not suppossed to be able to get...

You will need to go through what is called "an in dependent commercial importer"(ICI)=NO EXCEPTIONS..
not even Diplomatic status will circumnavigate these rules and regs....

Ferrari keeps a bit watchful eye on such cars and shenanigans{they view the wealthy as ...well, as if they were their own INVENTORY!} and will not acknowledge these cars very existence-if on this continent-should you appear at a Franchised dealer, UNLESS the car is here on a 365 day temporary tourist bond(they really enforce these today!). I saw this in person in the 1990s.
Frankly, with the modern regs, I'm not so sure this is not an unreasonable perspeective.
The EPA portion is easy...it is the 35mph frontal crash survivability test which is the one which is kind of hard to get around.....otherwise, why "the initial 55 rush"
Common sense and logic are first cousins in this case.

Financially-it is astronomically expensive-but attainable-from a technical, financial, and legal perspective...
just go to DOT and EPA web sites and they will say: DON"T do it, but if you are, here is how.....
The differences for CDN are a few lights as I recall, that is the gist of it...
    ciao!
    and, good luck!

PS-If you must, JK mtrs in Baltimore is "it", they may even have a small volume cert for it!

I have a hard time understanding why you cant find an enzo you like in NA. Are you looking for a hard to find color, such as black, and dont wanna wait? or is it a condition/milage thing?

    Hey txs for the reply....

Well I think I found the solutions...

First off, in the U.S I was offered a Red/Black Enzo from a private collection with 2850 Miles for USD 1.26 M.....but I saw a nice red/black with diamond RED stitching which had only 300 Miles in the U.K....

All that a side....One of my associates is the neighbour of _________ which owns an Enzo in Quebec.

He called me this morning stating that this person would sell me his Enzo......already in Quebec....with only 1300 Miles...and he's selling it to me for a steal(p.s: he's in a MAJOR divorce situation right now) timing is perfect ;)

So I'm going to see the car tomorrow.....

    I'll let you know guys...

    Regards,

    CL

Well he is in a "major" divorce situation so it must be true.

If it were a 'minor' divorce situation I wouldn't believe him...

Thats the difference, and we all know the difference.

Meanwhile, lets give the kind gentleman the benefit of the doubt in the hopes that he will grace us with images when he gets this Enzo for a "steal".

A fellow by the name of Rayda Sinni imports everything an imagination can handle into Canada and knows many federalization stations in the US as well.

He owns a company called "The Car Experience" and I am sure would be of enormous help in your situation.

Rayda has given me advise in the past on a particular project and knows everything on the subject of importing exotics. He's your guy.

The answer to the question is no. It has to be a US spec car only for importation........otherwise you gotta buy one already here.

    BOHICA perhaps ?

... his house in St.Bruno is for sale too where he used to hold wild parties "apres" the the grand prix....

as a joke, I told his realator that I would accept the offer if he leaves the Carrera GT inside the garage....

Today i got a call back from his lawyer, ... the wife got the CGT... so they would include the Veyron instead.

    Interesting.

I was told by a (thought to be) reliable source just yesterday that the Enzo would be the last thing to go. Wasn't aware of his Bug.

ah ... I am pretty sure this whole thread is all BS... i was just making up a BS story sory... it seems that the original poster is refering to the owner of Cirque du Soleil... who is worth something like 1.5 Billion.

So big deal, he is going through a divorce or separation... whatever... all he has to do is ... schedule a couple of extra shows in vegas, and he can buy 10 more Enzo's...

.. i don't see how a billionare ...will need to sell his Enzo just to make a payout his EX.

no, you cannot import a enzo from europe in canada or even into the usa or from dubai in the usa or into canada. i do this for a living ! there are huge issues that arise:

the euro spec cars do not hve the compliance labels for epa and dot .. even though we know they are world cars !

the dubai cars are usa spec , i mean enzos delivered there...
but , the car cannot come to canada. they can only go to usa...

Just out of curiosity, why not? If you can bring a Dubai car to the States, can't you title it in the States and then have no trouble re-titling it in Canada? Surely there are people who move from the US to Canada, and they must be allowed to keep their cars.

you could do that.. but will find yourself having to pay duties in usa, make th ecar comply, pay sales tax in order to register the car in order to get a title, then it can come to canada

    + 1.

I might also add to spdfrk001...."Be ever so careful what you post here, because....

    1. The Ferrari circle in Montreal is ever-so-small and tightly wound.
    2. The "millionaire/billionaire club is an even tighter circle.
    3. With 1 & 2 in mind....you'd be surprised to know who's watching this site.

Lastly....a "real" Enzo customer would would know that he'd have no option but to go through FMoQ (or Remo in TO), as no one but these two could properly service Enzos in our region. They would be giving you the scoop on whether or not you could plate a Euro Enzo in Quebec. Sorry bubba...but the Enzo owners that I know, don't even have time to surf the net for the obvious answers.

That said...time for some pics! :D
