    Hey all,

I was wondering if you would recommend one dealer over the other in terms of responsiveness, friendliness, knowledgeability, inventory, etc.

I have very serious interest and am trying to learn as much as I can from this forum and other sites and books but I don't want some guy to look down his nose at me as soon as I walk in the door, as this does have a tendency to happen as I am pretty young (and look even younger).

Any info on these guys would be much appreciated as well as where else I can learn more about the the way these dealers work as well as any not so obvious books, sites, magazines where I can learn about the tradition and history of these great cars.

    thanks.

I think you're asking too vague a question. Are you talking authorized F dealers? If so, there are only two, Continental and Lake Forest I believe. I think they are both good dealerships. Search the forum and you will find various experiences. My experience has been with Continental (two purchases to date). Very good experience with Continental. Best thing beyond this site is to go into each dealership and see how YOU feel you are treated rather than everyone else's experience. Hope you find the dream car you are looking for.

Lake Forest Sportscars is my pick and I recommend to everyone I know. Family owned and operated, for that personal, individual touch that is needed when buying pristine vehicles.

Ask for Tyler Dean, always professional, timely and courteous.

I used to work at LFSC and they are a very good dealer, but so is Continental. Tyler is the man when it comes to selling Ferraris selling cars is in his blood. The technicians at LFSC are fairly new so I dont know how much experience they have. You have to love the way the Drexel treats his customers though. Tough call you have two really good choices.

Mark, car is at LFSC and will take her out in the spring. bad timing with delivery in December and living in the city, I can't even get the car in and out of the alley behind my garage. let alone, all the potholes that are in every main street right now.

on a side note, i'm not too thrilled about how the car turned out. i'm sure i'll get flamed for saying such a thing but there is something off, something i can't put my hand on. i order every car i purchase in black/black and that goes for Ferrari's as well. its just too black and you cannot make out the unique carbon pieces and going with aluminum calipers turned out to be nothing special.

i would like to reorder a 2009 and get white with livery stripe and yellow calipers.....i'm sure i've got your vote!

You dont know me but I do see a lot of these cars and I say you are right it is to blahhh. Something isnt right. I mean you have a great car and it is unique. I havent seen your combo yet. It just doesnt pop. The calipers really set it off especially with those wheels. Red or yellow would be a easy fix. Just an FYI make sure they are charging the battery while your car is in the showroom. When I worked there I charged the cars constantly. I hope they kept this up. I would just hate to see you pick up that amazing car and the battery is dead. I loved this car when I first drove it. I have driven the Veyron and I would say that the Scuderia shifts faster. It is a fantastic car have fun with it.

I am biased because I work for Continental AutoSports but when you do business with Continental AutoSports you are dealing with experience.

You are dealing with one of the oldest Ferrari and Maserati dealers in the country.

You are dealing with an expericence sales staff

    An educated, professional service staff

    A dedicated parts staff.

    A top notch detail department.

You get a warm welcomed attitude from John Weinberger

Not to mention an inventory to rival anyones

My turn to Thread Jack. My good friend Barry just told me he's friends with a guy named Jim, who works in sales at LFSC. I guess you guys went to HS together?

Continental is the place to go. The PartsGuy nailed it. LFSC has young techs, not as much experience, and didn't they just try to open a maserati dealer in WI and it failed after a month and half. Continental also has 2 Ferrari Master Techs which I think they're one of the only dealers in America with that many. LFSC can't say that. They're both good dealers...just keep in mind that if you take it to LFSC for service ever...it may very well end up at Continental.
    Good Luck

I would agree with you that we have 1(one) young tech, but because he is young does not make him incompetent! He has gone through all the same factory training, been ASE certified, went to tech school....To say that just because we have 1(one) young tech, "your car may end up at Continental" is outlandish and obsurd. Why don't you come and meet our guys, talk to them before you make such statements? I bet you will be blown away with the knowledge, skill and desire.

We also have a new tech (Ben) in the Ferrari Apprentice Program on his way to Ferrari S.P.A. Ben finished top in his class at UTI to get the opportunity, funded by Ferrari, to train in the factory in Maranello.

We did open a dealership in Milwaukee that we closed nearly 4 months in. It was a smart decision to pull the plug, hurting the core business at LFSC isnt something we would like to do.

Hey Jim how is LFSC treating you. I would agree that they may have young techs at LFSC but they do know what they are doing. Its not like they are new to the industry. I would have to say go in to LFSc and see how they fit for you. Then go to Continental and see how they fit for you. They are both well respected dealers and have earned their reputations.

Red calipers are the best IMHO. Love that baby blue color that was on the Scud going around the auto show circuit. Killer combo.

Not applicable as to the LFSC vs. Continental debate for inventory, but for service my highest recommendation is Euroquipe in St. Charles. If you're looking for the more experienced tech that used to work at LFSC, this is where you'll find one of them.
