Pretty clean and fast, Luke has been held back by his religous commitment. His choice. Quite a contrast to the other's approach for sure.
thanks rob and co for the kind words. was entered in the falcon, but decided on friday afternoon not to participate, asked for my name to be removed, hasn't happened. as for the cup car, qualified 6th, lucky to get 5th as twigg ran into kingsley who snapped a drive shaft off the line, game over for both in race one. race two burchartz went sideways at the 2nd last corner of the last lap, i was able to pass for 4th. 3rd race, smoked bill pye lap one up mountain straight, kept him at bay, twiggy came through for 3rd, then up to reid park the throttle stayed fully open, nearly crunched the wall, stuck in 4th on the limiter, clutch in, brakes on, had to turn the car off, stopped on the grass, got the car back to 1st gear, not easy with the sequential box, safety car out due to other cars crashing, lost a heap of places, drove back to the pit, race finished under safety car. will inspect the throttle cable tomorrow, probably replace. quinn is very fast, has been for years, great bloke too, young caratti is quick too, so is bill pye, sven, twigg and kingsley. if i can finish 7th for the year, i would be happy. other fast guys from my club didn't really get going, they will be much faster at PI. would like to do the 12 hour next year, a few guys in the club want to as well.
good on you. Sounds as if you had your work cut out,not nice a sticking throttle, but you did the right thing, many would panic.is Pyes car the one he has been racing for years? When is phillip island? its a great track far easier to learn then Bathurst
only allowed 6 slicks, used 4. as many wets as you like. maybe 275? need to check the data, wasn't looking at the dash.
Good on ya mate!! Sounds like A LOT of hard work there! Stay safe out there and keep having fun mate!!
The car you didnt run seems *very* slow compared to the others of similar model/specification. There are plenty of options that are competitive in their class, and in the model of car... picking your teammates is always the challenge...
Announcers doing a good job of commentating. The live feed is describing events well. 335i had to pit and Barg's got past. Now he's got metal on metal brakes and Luke is chasing. 34 mins to fight for the last podium spot.
Sweet, was just outside to turn on the irrigation system I put in place! Basically a timer off the tap with some 19mm poly hidden under the mulch. Poly has 5 small sprinklers feeding the plants and the whole setup works really good. I turn on for 10 mins at at time, usually once every day or two. I *think* the palm tree has grown a little, but the Cicads havent grown at all yet. At least none of them have died yet.
Did heaps of micro irrigation when I had my nursery. Found the drip outlets ,under the mulch, on the poly line better than sprays. It soaks in deeper and encourages deeper root growth. Saves a lot of evaporation too and I found the plants less likely to cark if they missed out on a watering or two. Helps that no-one can see the thing running, unlike spray fittings too. Found it takes a bit to learn what works with diff plants and locations. Using a timer you turn on or a battery powered computerised head that turns itself on? Untill the batteries go flat and you don't notice, that is. I enjoyed the tinkering.
