The timer is manual one. I turn it on for 10 mins and walk away. It turns off by itself. I am actually wrong mate, I have dribblers for those plants. They dribble water, but they look like sprays. They dribble water at the base, **** all evaporation I reckon. Base of the plant gets a nice soaking. Hahaha!
Team Mitsubishi Ralliart 1-2 two years in a row! Mr Heaphy's boys and girls seem to know a thing or two... The "Scud" car finished 28th of 31 finishers, on 195 laps. The car's fastest lap at 2:49.6246 is ~4 seconds slower than the similar car of Team Tinkler...
They're going to have to consider a change or two I think if its to grow as an individual event. Evo battle and class winners are ok in a series but one team or model dominating is the kiss of death for spectator interest. If they want the general viewer audience Bathurst once had an open format must be considered.
Sportscar class could be thought out. Been a long time since we've had a which buyable car is best event in Oz. This era could take to a showroom shoot out. The whole country hasn't followed anything for a long time like it did the Redex or London to Sydney or the Bathursts of our childhood. No need for a price cap, imho. The expensive stuff just isn't that reliable in registerable road going form.
agree. They need to bring back class race at the October 1,000.The current race is so Nascar its boring.
Rob...this is just sad, and whats worse is that you are not alone out there, but in spite of CAMS perceived lack of expertise and direction....Historics and Motor Racing generally is flourishing in this country (well up untill the financial crash anyway)...the V8s may have shot their bolt, some will cheer, I just think about the loss of the circus, money and the teams employed and what they will all do after the series goes belly up (if indeed it does). I also wonder what will happen to the well heeled Biante tin-top rebels once the main game goes away? There are thousands involved in grass roots racing and they all certainly seem to be having fun. I adopt the credo that life is too short for bitterness...and milk every Motor Racing opportunity for what it is worth in my sad little existance!! I hope you to, can have a change of heart and just enjoy being involved or seeing hundreds of others competing. PS what did your family have to eat in Kew, I see you had a colourful plate of that uncooked, foul tasting, jap crap out for your oriental guests LOL ;-)
i am bitter, I loved the racing in wide variety of cars, Elfin Mono twin cam,Brabham BT21C,PorscheCarrera and 2 x Mustangs. Many events over 20 plus years. But never again,A lot of my mates got burn't to by CAMS and certain people at the VHRR. One mate whom IMO was the best non Pro to ever race a historic car and the fastest for many a year,is like me will not even go to a event. His Bob Minogue alla Black Bob with the Lola T430 F5000. i was that keen I would even race my Porker in Marque sports racing.
Ohhh dear...I almost hate to say that I thoroughly enjoyed watching F5000s in olden days and more recently officiating for them at the Island, Sandown and Tasman Revival not to mention the odd appearance at other meetings. Get the porker out and have a run around an Easter Bathurst for old times sake...just remember that they are only a "sports VW" and prone to the "pendulum effect" LOL (how do you insert smileys??). I always enjoy the Elfin Mono/Brabham BT21 type of racing...something elegant and old fashioned that appeals to me...as for Stangs, well quite the tin top surprise mainstay for many many years. Boycott VHRR meetings on principle if it makes you feel better...but no need to cut off your nose to spite your face!! Yours in Motorsport, Mick
no interest Mick, i sold the Porsche to Max Lane a few years ago.The rules for sb/sc are a joke and were wrote up by a fool, they in noway represent the period rules. Couple of years ago i thought of a another car ie Brabham BT23c a proper Euro F2 car,but it was all to hard. I'm only 50,maybe once all the old ****s are dead, can't be long I might get back into it,but not regards Rob Bailey.
Hmmmmm please say a big thank you to Max from me for owning and showing that fabulous red 275....I have been in love ever since I first clapped eyes on it!! Ohhhh Ohhh dear...your problems with the system are really deep seated...only 50 (lucky sod), years of fun times in front of you (even with Lymphoma I'm hoping) and you are bogged down with this burden...I am really really tempted to say build a bridge (but I won't). When ever I get a tad maudlin....I just hit the Blues...Inspirational stuff....Doug MacLeod http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EiRGJTMZyI
I think Max has sold the 275. Funny thing the guy whom sold it to Max also dropped out of Historic's due to certain old ****s. if i wanted to i could buy a great Historic but rather have the jag and the bentley for fun week ends and drive days.
Yep...my 275 love affair started in the mid 1960s and I suppose I spotted Max's red beauty in the mid 1970s.... Buy the historic and fit it out with burl walnut and connolly leather?? Nah...do whatever puts a sparkle in your eyes!!
happy doing me own thing, life is to short to hang around a race track for 3 days and spend less then an hour on it. You going to Phillip Island historics/
Yep...because I want to...no other reason...and I get a charge out of seeing the DRIVERS exercise their fine machinery whilst having a good time. Bring the Bentley down and you can park next to Stan and compare stone chips!! Night!
hey you guys...this thread is about scud!! don't upset him by talking about other unimportant rubbish, ok?
Ha ha Thats Booka White, Booker T, BB Kings cousin. Truly seminal blues man at the point where African tribal music and delta blues merged. Pure real deal not some later guy copying a genre. This is the guy who gave BB King his first guitar. Dude farted the blues.
