I went to Top Gear Live on Friday. The Zonda (in fact all of them including the R) as well as the Veyron were all spectacular. However, my favourites still had to be.... Clarkson was outrageous as usual, especially when interviewed at the Grand Hyatt afterwards. PAUL Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just got back from the show, the last one of the world tour. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Although it was a shame May wasn't there, Clarkson and Hammond were great, as funny if not funnier at some points than they are on the show. Great to finally see a Veyron in the flesh and the other cars that were on show were just as incredible. Also good to see the CLK-GTR (That's been to a few SMD meets hasn't it?), the F40 of course, and the modernised 300SL. It was fantastic to see the white Countach in the HK Classics area, I had a poster of that exact car on my bedroom wall for my entire childhood - and the 356 and 275 GTS were also jaw dropping. Sega355's '71 Skyline was utterly faultless too. All in all, well worth the entrance fee! Roll on the next TG World Tour!
Yes, that is the blue 512bb. It was offered again by IMSS in 2004 and price was dropped to under $400,000. Well, that was the only chance and I missed it.
I like the Clio stunt show, motobike running inside the ball, and Suzuki car football. The others are somewhat boring of mostly slow drifting with different kind of cars (DB9, Exige, Chaser, 200sx, WRX, Altezza). I would say the show was a success because many people expected to see supercars, and the show did an excellent job of showing most of the HK supercars in the show. Thanks for your comment on my Skyline. It is faultless because Megiure gave my car a good wax job for free.
I agree I though the stunt driving and the motorbikes were the highlights. At the show I went to they said as it was the last one they would put 4 bikes in that steel cage. I couldn't believe the precision and balls these guys had. Did they only do that in the last show or was it a rouse? I also thought it was amusing when Marchy Lee got in the shopping trolley and Jezza swapped the AMG CLK55 CTM, at that point I though, is there any supercar in Hong Kong that hasn't turned up to this show?! I think I know the local origins of all the other cars there, but I wasn't aware there was a Veyron in HK. Does anyone know if that is a personal car or dealer owned? Any idea if the big SMD at Luk Keng went ahead as rumoured? Some spots from yesterday afternoon. Your Scud, DM18? Below $400K!!! I guess all BB lovers missed it except one! 02-05 were the times I pay little attention to cars. One of my best memory during that time was a 512TR put up for sale at very attractive price at kowloon bay. No doubt I missed the BB512 too. Good luck on your BB512 search and hope you can find a good one for yourself.
Yes, I remember there were 2 red 512tr 1994 for sale. One was for sale during 2003 by dealer name Pak Ga Lok in Kowloon bay $500,000. I was told that one was owned by political celebrity and has previous accident record. another one by IMSS for $590,000 and had 50,000km 2 years later. I am not sure if they were both the same car. Then there was an ad for Red/beige 94' 512tr with 17500km selling at $950,000 on SCMP during 2005. I have seen that 512tr and it is in a very nice condition. I haven't seen another one for sale after that.
Not a 512, but I've seen (what looks like a tidy) Rosso/Crema Testarossa with the centre-lock wheels going for HK$372k in the UK, but it's a private sale so possibly a bit of a gamble. Also a very tidy low-mileage looking Rosso/Crema Testa with 512M wheels and 24,000km on the clock going for HK$450k from what appears to be a reputable dealer. Ironic that a car with so much history in the name (see the potential US$15M 250 Testa Rossa about to go up for auction) can be had for Toyota Camry money.
You reminded me the Pak Ga Lok car dealer, yes, it was there. Took a closer look, car looked great but the salesperson........... I left anyway.
Saw a yellow 612 Scaglietti with a distinctive license plateon Lockhart Road last night. I have to say I don't think I've ever even seen a photo of a yellow Scag before, let alone in real life!
Actually I think you got your facts wrong this time Bob! Owner is not the son of any well known HK developer
oh man i also remember the owner of 55x5 612 scag... he looks really weird with 80s hair style and freaky face.... me and my gf always laughed our asses off everytime seeing him on the road.... that's highlight of my day.. he thought he can turn heads in this car but actualy people turned heads to laugh at him.. . what a waste for such a fine vehicle...
There is an old Chinese saying that roughly translates to this - "Grapes that you can't eat are always sour to you" Let me know if you can't figure out the meaning behind this
haahaha.... it must be u my man.... i ll say hi to u next time when seeing u again on the road... it's just a car dude... i would not want such a fxxkface in exchange of just a car....
