I did a search on a thread like this one, but I didn't see one. Can Lewis win another championship this season? I think he can and will. He almost won it his rookie year. That dude is awesome.
depends on how good the car is of course, but I think so. I think we've seen enough from Hami to know he's not a flash in the pan.
Honestly I think he's been REALLY lucky with good cars on a good team. That last F1 was a real nail-biter (especially for Ferrari and Massa). But if he were with a lesser team, it might be more of a crap shoot. Unless it rains a LOT. That's his playground... but he IS a good driver...
Depends on how well he can develop the car. Alonso is still the best on the grid at developing cars, apparently.
providing he drives like he did in his first season, I have no reason to doubt him. His second season wasn't as good and he had a lot of luck both the ferrari boys (and arguably kubica) didn't have great seasons either. He's damn lucky he has a reliable car though. He hasnt had a technical fault on his car yet has he?
Hamilton will win anoher title. Actually more than just a second. He will win a third at least. Can't say whether it'll be this year or not, but I wouldn't it at all.
I don't really care who wins the title this year. The only thing I care about is that the FIA doesn't gift points to their pet drivers and penalize their unfavorite drivers like last year.
Hammy is a great driver. I don't much like the guy, but he can drive, and will win another championship eventually.
Hammy is a great driver. I don't much like the guy, but he can drive, HOWEVER will NOT win another championship.
yup, at least one, probably more. When he eventually lands at Ferrari, y'all will change your tune. DM
Don't be ridiculous... OF COURSE HE WILL!! For the length of time I have been posting on here I have read: The jury's still out on him, don't like his attitude only because of the car blah blah blah ect. The guy is the real deal!! one of the best if not the best, like has been posted ^ if only he was in a red car!!...
I can support a Scuderia driver and not like the dude. Kimi is a great example. If Alonso ever gets to a red car, it will be the same. That said, I think Hammy's at McLaren as long as that team exists.
Actually the question isn't that ridiculous: While you know I agree with you on how good Hamilton is, winning the title requires more than "just" raw talent and racecraft. It is also about sitting in the right car at the right time, not having the FIA against yourself and on how strong the competition is: Alonso is IMHO just as good as Hami is right now (if not even better). Raikkoenen in this year's Ferrari might be back to his old glory of 07 (we'll see, not totally sure yet). And now there is Vettel. He won't be a threat for the title in the Red Bull, but put him in a Ferrari and he'll be hard to beat. And those are only the currently known entities. What if another Hamilton or Vettel finds his way into F1?
Of course he can, and he probably will. All biases aside, his title wasn't a fluke. It could have gone Massa's way so easily, but in the end he did earn it.
Boils down to the old question: Team over driver For me it is driver first and team second. Which makes for some schizophrenic rooting. But once Alonso sits in the Ferrari, it'll be all good again. Just like in 2007 or in 1999. Only because the FIA changed the results of two races.
No it isn't a ridiculous question, however it is to me (said tongue in cheek style).. I agree with the rest, alot of things have got to line up right to be WDC, as you no I rate FA all around best driver. however it will be harder to judge as time goes by who will be the best, betwwen them. Saying that, had FA been in a Ferrari last year and he would be a 3 x WDC ......I think...I'm sure.... Vettel, middle of this year I will have made my mind up 100%, but it would be a foolish bet to say he is not going to become one of the best. Bring on the all the new talent sounds good to me..
In a way we live again in one of F1's finest times: Instead of having one dominating driver, we got several top notch drivers who all could get the crown: Alonso, Hamilton, Raikkoenen and Vettel Last time F1 was that good was like 20 years ago with Senna, Prost, Piquet and Mansell.
Mate, no offence but do you want me to do the math again? Could in that case always say 'if only his engine stayed together for 3 more laps'. Hambone won it fair and square, even though he deserved it more in 07. I still don't like hamilton, although much of that is to do with that a) he drives for the wrong team and b) I don't like how the british media writes about him. Some of his comments can be a bit careless but on track i generally like him (which is what really matters!)
