My Father just passed away on Sun Feb 16th suddenly, I just wanted you all of you to know that he was a Ferrari lover to the end. He was a strong and proud man and extremely patriotic to his home land of Italy and loved anything and all Italian.

I am lucky enough to have such a large and loving family that it made his passing a little more tolerable. At his funeral is when I realized how many people my father touched, it was like the passing of a Don, the funeral included people such as our Mayor and well respected members of the community.....who knew????

I hope I am half the man my Father was. He immigrated to Canada with my mother and 5 out of 6 kid's to make a better life for us at the age of 45...
Not knowing a word of English and no job waiting for him he persevered and came through for the family. Due to his effort and hard work all of the children were given a chance at a better life and we all excelled in our professions.

I know for a fact that I would not be in a position financially that I am today if I was still living in Italy or owning my own business, for this I am so grateful to him. The nice thing is that I was able to say thank you to him this past Christmas for being such a strong family man, I don't think I would have been able to do what he accomplished especially at the age of 45.

I know he was proud of me and loved to tell people (especially back home) that I owned a Ferrari, he was grinning from ear to ear the first time I pulled up with my Spider and all he could say was

    "Now that's an Italian woman."....:)

I will miss my Father very very much.

    Good bye Dad....

I'm sorry Roberto. Can't imagine what it would be like to lose my father. Everyone's thoughts are with you, paisan. Was your father southern or northern?

Thank you my friend. We were from the Province of Abruzzo east of Rome on the Adriatic Sea, it is the last Province that is not overrun and spoiled with tourism, it is as beautiful if not more so than Tuscany. My Father loved that land.

This will most likely be the target of my next Italian visit. Sounds like a great place to get back to the roots. Again, my thoughts are with you.

Very sorry to hear Roberto; just think how proud your dad was knowing his son owned a real Ferrari!!! I feel your pain, lost my mom last year...I'm glad she at least saw me achieve my dream of owning a Ferrari and got to ride in in once.

Roberto, you were so fortunate to have such a great man, Dad, and mentor in your life. Something you will always be thankful for. Make sure your children know who he was and how important he was in your life.

Unfortunately, not everyone has the fortune of having a father like yours. I think if every child could grow up with a strong parent figure as your father was for you, this planet would look a whole lot different.

Use your father's knowledge wisely and celebrate his life often.

Sorry for your loss. My parents were hard working Greek immigrants and my life pretty much parallels yours - even with a college education and a successful business I do not feel I have accomplished what they did coming to the USA with no money and few skills. I think of my Mom and Dad every day and thank God they taught me well. God Bless
