I have not had luck with the spacer type of CEL eliminator. I think history shows the 5.2 motronic to be particularly sensitive to abnormal signals from the post cat O2 sensor.

I know others have done the electronic emulator. That will work. You have to splice it into the wiring. I started to do it and then opted against it out of laziness.

IMO there is not enough performance to be gained using test pipes on the 355 .......... as when the bypass opens ...... one gains another flow path.

So you have test pipes installed? Just live with the CEL? Do you regularly scan for other codes?

I want a LOUD idle though... and wouldn't they be benificial with a y-pipe deleted capristo?

Plus, test pipes are $600 and new cats are $2k+

Imo you get more hp. I noticed a difference taking out my gutted cats vs test pipes. Most important is a huge reduction in heat in the engine compartment which I believe is a major contributor to valve guide issues

True, some cats are very expensive .............. but I am working on that .......... among my 50 other projects ..... ;)

It is quite possible ........ though in the next few weeks these exhaust shortcomings on the 355 (mine) will be properly addressed ........ :)
