Deadly Race - Co-Driver filmed his own death!!

I'm afraid to even watch that video.

 

First off, that was not a codriver. It was some guy sitting in the passenger seat with a videocamera while streetracing.

Second, in the short segment showing the 'mainhoop' in the car would never pass any motorsport sanctioning body's regulations. Totally Home Depot and appears to have some sort of Home Depot 'fuel cell' strapped to a crossbrace. Could be stereo speaker though.

Fortunately this guy didn't take out any 'innocent bystanders'.

Regardless, damage to car and nature of impact did not warrant fuel tank rupturing or fire.

Would you guys still be saying "Natural Selection" if he was driving a Ferrari? I don't think anyone on this forum can deny the fact that they have all given it some gas on the streets in less than perfect conditions. Of course that's IMO.

We all did stupid things as youngsters. We used to play a game where our goal was to do double the speed limit or curve warning speed signs. I remember being a passenger racing on Highway 40 in STL (between I-270 & Brentwood, w/ construction!) at over 140 mph one night with two cars of four people each. If there had been an accident you would have had 8 kids from one HS killed.

Some of us luck out and make it to adulthood and unfortunately some of us don't.

Would you cry if a terrorist was killed by his own bullet fired straight up into the air in one of the stupid celebrations? Not me.

I see little difference between that terrorist and a moron street racer endangering innocent people who feels the need to videotape it to stoke their ego.

 

This video appears to be total BS, made to discourage street racing. If the car burst into flames, then how did the video tape make it to us?

That is a speaker (the JBL logo is an obvious giveaway).
