I heard there was going to be a new venue at Blackhorse this year, while Concorso remains at the airfield. Any one know what the story is on this?

For $150 it better be good. ...but we still don't know where the "Concorso Nuevo" will be.

I hardly ever make comments on here however, I was told that Concorso Italiano was definatly not going to be held at the Marina Airport and the prices were changing to an early bird of $85 till May 31st for spectator not including lunch. Children 12 and under were free. Yippy! I guess pricing will be going up soon.

We will have to wait and see though ;)

Last year I paid in Feb. before they announced where it was going to be. I think I will wait until they make it offical on the location. I was under the impression that they had signed a 5yr deal with the airport.

There's a blurb on Sports Car Market online that Concorso Italiano has just been sold. However, there's NOTHING current about this on the Concorso website as yet. No mention is made of where the event will be held.

In a related item, the FCA Pacific Region has been negotiating to put on a Ferrari Club Concours at BlackHorse, but a recent rumor is that this isn't working out? Perhaps related to the above?? The FCAPR is continuing its search for a suitable venue, according to reliable sources.

they probably had to sell to get out of the contract they had at the airport, due to no body wanted to go out there, and realized they wouldn't going to have the turn out to make money...............dah!

Based on what is going on, I think it is too late to pull off a 2009 event...

Finding a venue in the area is not easy or cheap.

nor is it a quickly done thing.

There are a couple of GREAT venues that wont allow you to hold a show there, any kind of car show, for fear of ticking off The Pebble Beach Co.... who are VERY against any of the other car shows going on during the week.

Yep the politics run deep in Monterrey.

Didn't see anything happening that made me want to drive to downtown Alamo much less Monterey.

I am thinking Monterey is a victim of its success and is past it's sell by date.

If the streamliner is done I'll do Bonneville and just skip Monterey.

Yes, indeed the rumors are true; there will be a car extravaganza back at Black Horse. It is a fantastic venue on grass and in response to the feedback that we need to have a great show for car guys put on by car guys. We are finalizing the details but can tell you it will be competitively priced and it will be on Friday the 14th. It will be back to a definitively Italian focus. Once again, it’s back to the basics of grass, water view, rolling hills, shade, beautiful settings, music, models, and Italian style and flare beyond compare. Official announcements will follow shortly. Look forward to seeing you there.

Kerry, thanks, that is what I was looking for, something concrete. Glad to see you guys are going for it.
Will it be limited to Italian cars or will there be a euro corral like concorso used to have? I always enjoyed that aspect as well.

Funny, I just got a call from Concorso Italiano. No site announcement yet but promises it will be on grass and also return to the more basic car focus. They said they would call when site is clear and it should be soon.

Thanks for your support. We are professionally organizing this as an Italian focused show. Yes, we will have a Euro fairway. The show will be on Fairways 1, 2 & 3 plus the driving range. We should have our website up by week's end and rest assured the organization behind this has been going on for months.

Sorry, but I can't get behind a guy that has just done a Car Club and never run an event. If CI is on grass...that is where I am going!
