No, this is the one that I live in for $1,200/week rent. The one that I was talking about for sale is free standing. It's land doesn't look any bigger than 400sqm.

Under 500k housing market is being propped up by 1st home owner bonuses - will fall over if the bonuses aren't extended beyond June or if they are extended indefinately because everyone's trying to 'get it while they can'.
I agree with Goober - MQG WILL go to zero for the same reason BNB have - they don't produce anything real, it was just number shuffling one step up from an old fashioned pyramid.
A passing comment on some program a few weeks ago that "Britain, which was the world's first industrialised nation, has become the world's first post-industrial nation" has had me thinking and I realised last night watching the news re the Pacific Brands layoffs that the problem we're having now, and the reason the 'stimuli' won't work, is because we haven't yet got our heads around this concept of a post-industrial world. We're wasting our money on trying to save industry (and I think some like PB are probably taking this opportunity to euthanise themselves). We need to refocus our energy onto intellectual capital and problems such as energy and more efficient food production.

I've never had a good feeling about MQG. I could never put my finger on why, though.

Posted last August, could be an explanation why the MQG share price is so low.

Hard to say if it will go to zero though, apparently MQG have to roll over some debt soon, but also have plenty of cash. They can also cut subsidiaries loose if they need to.
MQG has been a great stock to speculate on, but IMHO there are better places to put your money if you are an investor.

Depends, some would say that giving up 50% of your assets to escape a life of misery is an absolute bargain. And one can always make more money.

Plus, if you have children in common, they're most likely to get it all in the end, anyway.

The smaller the property pool, the more the wife is likely to get (esp. where there are children). It is in those cases where court-adjudicated property settlements tend to be 50% or higher.

However, the larger the property pool, the less (as a percentage of that pool) the ex-wife is likely to get (even when there are children). In cases where the property pool is 7+ figures, the settlements tend to be in the region of 3x% on average in favour of the husband. There's a well-known case called Ferraro which deals with this precise issue. IIRC, it was a full bench of the Fam Court, Court of Appeal decision (i.e. it was an appeal decision), and the High Court refused to hear a further appeal sought by Ms Ferraro (the full court gave her 37.5% of a property pool of $10 million after a 27 year marriage with three children- she wanted 50%).

Then again, what would I know? I only studied fam law at law school.

A workmate's wife wanted a divorce. She got it and got 70% of his property (he had to sell and pay her 70% of the money after the sale) and she took 70% of his Super. :(:(

They were married for 18 yrs and have 3 kids together. 2 girls and a baby boy. :(:(

Thats all they had in assets, one family home. But he had over 20 yrs worth of Super put away from working underground in the Mines his entire life. :(:(

Now.....she has a new man, ALL of his money and a new(er) house. He had to buy a $15K donga to live in, that he put in the local Caravan Park. He still has to pay $30 a week for site fee's and a few other fee's cause he is a permanent there. :(:(

LOL like Chris Rock said in one of his shows

"prenup is for poor people, the poor you are, the more you need it. If you got 10mil and ur wife takes half, you still got 5 mil u can still live; but if only got 40 g and your wife want half, you might have to kill her! I ain't gonna move back with my mama coz you ain't in love! You've gotta DIE!!"
