Tomorrow's the big day. Wife is in early labor, and we're off to the hospital in the morning. Hopefully it won't drag out too long!

My wife will be the first to tell you that the epideral was her best friend when our boy was born. Embrace the drugs!

Good luck and be sure to absorb the moment. It will be with you for the rest of your life.

Good luck with the delivery, just for the record on this day in 1919 the Grand Canyon was classified as a park or a protected site of some kind, so your child will have something to aspire to. Tell him if he doesn't become more famous than the Grand Canyon, then he'll be less important than a stack of rocks. :)

Thanks everyone! It's been a chaotic few weeks. In addition to several loose ends we've been trying to tie up and the baby on the way, we had a mold issue with several of our bedroom windows last week. We eventually resolved it, but it caused a lot of unneeded stress! So yesterday we went to my sister's office (she's our OB). Our due date was last Sunday, but Parker went 15 days past-due and we weren't getting many signs that this one was about to make an entrance. My sister felt that, if we arranged to break the water today then we'd have a birth by Friday latest. Well, my wife went into labor last night, water broke at 1:30 and by 2am she was in the delivery room. Contractions started coming on strong, and when they checked her temp she was 102! This meant getting an epidural was no longer an option, so she went au natural the next six hours. It was like a scene from one of those poorly over-acted movies where the expectant mom screams uncontrollably, ranging from operatic highs to gutteral primitive lows. Our daughter was finally delivered at 8:08 am by my sister, and I thought my wife was going to collapse. Child birth is never easy, but this was an exhibition of strength you don't often see. Over the last few days she barely had any sleep (fighting a severe sinus infection to boot!) and she dug deep. Everyone is doing well--I've got a lot of the usual pictures on the camera at the hospital, but this was from my phone. Newborns tend to look a lot alike, and to me she's beautiful because she's ours. As cliched as it may sound, the healthy development of a baby borders on near-miraculous. Funny enough, we were going over our list of names last night when this shifted into overdrive, so as of 4:30 she is without a name. And we're open to suggestions. But to my wife, I love you honey! And thank you!

Some babies are ugly but that's classic " cute new baby" you have there, that photo should be placed in the dictionary. Best of luck with the whole raising process.
