Spies to poll!!! Very cool. I'm no Be-yatchy fan, but I am an Aprilia fan, so I wish him well this year. Cant wait for the street version of the RSV4.

Spies REPRESENTING!!! Many have thought AMA isn't as good as WSBK, and for the most part - that may be true, but with Mladin, Bostrom, Duhamel, et al, it's been good proving ground for Mr. Spies.

I am a Ducati fan, but I am rooting for Ben!!

Is there any coverage of the race on SPEED Channel?

Go Ben!! I raced in the same Texas series he started in, and met him at the CMRA banquet I think right after his first AMA season when he took second to Mladin (dammit, and to think I got married about a week before LOL, he's even cuter in person!) He was always a sweet kid and my friends who've known him for years have nothing but good to say about the guy. I'm glad to see him in WSB and not MotoGP just yet, only wish Colin would have bailed and shook things up a little in WSB with Ben too, now instead of the battle of Troys we could have had the battle of Texans :) I'll have my pompoms ready for when they broadcast the race here on Sunday. My husband (Italian family) always ends up cheering for Max, seeing how nobody else ever does LOL

Race 1 is on Sunday. Race 2, in infuriating SpeedTV fashion, is on Tuesday afternoon.

You cannot watch it live on the world superbike site either in the US.

Ben went off the track on race one, ended up 16th. Won the second race. I look to see him and Haga fighting over the champion. He is a client. Watch for him at Tech3 next year, if he does well in WSB.

If Colin had gone to WSB, Ben would have gotten his ride. Yamaha tried to talk Colin into doing just that, but he wanted another year in MotoGP. Ben, if he does well, will get his ride.

Art, what part of "Race 2 doesn't air until Tuesday" didn't you read in the post immediately above yours? It is common courtesy to either not post spoilers in unmarked threads or mark them clearly enough for people who haven't seen the race to avoid, at least until the race airs. This is very frustrating. That's it, I'm staying off Internet completely until I watch each race..

Sorry, I assumed that it was common knowledge, because all of the reports listed the finishes. However, you can watch the races on the WSB site, if you use a European site rather than the US one. However the race is well worth watching, even if you know the result.

Thanks so much for the link, you guys are my new heroes!! Are you hosting it personally or do you know where the rest of the races be available for online viewing? Heck, if there was a subscription-based service like they do with MotoGP, I'd sign up in a moment, WSB was the series to watch last year and even more so this year!

<vent on>The frustration with SpeedTV here is neverending.. Not only do they never show these events live (meaning that the rest of the moto-civilized world has already seen them), but they managed to delay Race 2 for TWO freaking days! And the one they did broadcast, they would cut to Viagra commercials every two minutes right before a pass for the lead, and never replay the critical passes (that's Speed's fault, not the WSB broadcast). They are either desperate for some motorcycle content for their Two-Wheel Tuesday (what a joke) or just don't have enough time in the day on Sunday for all the Nascrap rebroadcasts and talking heads (no offense intended to Nascar fans, but they are not even showing racing, fergodsake..) We get no trials competitions, no flattrack unless they need time to fill for Daytona Bike Week, and now that Nascar promoters bought out AMA Superbike, things are looking even less hopeful.

Whew, felt good to vent lol </vent off>

    Nori's year.
Troy has given his mate a clear go. Just up to Haga to prove he's next and better than the rest, make less mistakes over a whole season.

Would have been, but we couldn't make the right deal for Ben in MotoGP, so we ended up here. Ben is by far the class of the field, and I suspect this will be his one and only year in that class. Too bad for Haga, but that's the way it is. Remember, Ben is learning the tracks, setting up a new bike, and is still the fastest one there.

Guy is the full package, no doubt.
A season in WSB will generate enough demonstrable US profile that, with his ability and a few of the tracks learnt, next season should see the right MotoGP deal I agree. Certainly hope so for many reasons.
Still think its Nori's to win or lose. Nothing I saw at PI to change that.
Been a long time since Wayne, Kevin and Randy. We need a world class american winner.

When I was riding, we Californians owned pavement racing. Roberts, Lawson, Rainey, Mamola owned the tracks. I remember when Kenny showed up at the 500 races. The first race was in England, as I recall. When the flag dropped, he flat left. Sheene, et al were stunned. For the next 20 years the US owned that class. Then the Aussies showed up, then the New Zealanders, etc. However, we've got a great crop of young men coming up. Watch us dominate again. Too bad Hopper got some terrible advice regarding his ride(the switch from Suzuki) because he had potential.

Unless something bad happens to Ben or Yamaha, Nori doesn't have a shot.

BTW: Ben owes me a helmet for my collection. I'll post a pic when I get the helmet.

Changing the url to replace RACE2 with RACE1 will get you the first race broadcast too.
In case it hadn't occured to anyone.
    2000Yellow360 might've missed it.

I'm Assuming you have inside info from your post, but word on the street was that ben was passed up this year for motoGP because of is poor performance (not knocking, him- just not at a front running pace-top3) at the US rounds last year. As for WSBK, One race doesn't mean anything at this point. Ben will have to finish in the top 5 at every race this year to really prove himself at the world level. The next race will be much tougher for ben, as they will not have as much time to test, and dial in set up as they did at the Island. As an american, I would love to see him do well, but my support has alway been for Haga...as I have always loved his style and the fact that my wife is Japanese and loves to watch the races.

I am relieved not to see Nicky's name in this list. 'Nuff said.

I think Art is right. Anything can happen (as PI race 1 has shown), but having followed him through CMRA and then AMA, the amount of talent and determination Elbowz has will make him a very viable force in WSB. I also think he has enough 125/250 experience to also do well in MotoGP, which famously lends itself better to riders who came through the GP ranks rather than superbikes. But the best part is, this is going to be good season! :D

PS Watching him cross the finish line literally gave me goosebumps. Terrific race! Thanks again for the link, now I'm spoiled..
