Personally I'm distracted by the side reflectors on the car - I'd remove those in the name of aesthetics before I'd ask the young lady to vacate the hood.

Technically speaking, now that the cars exceed 21 years old, there is no need for the side-markers that adorn the flanks of some GTOs. Therefore I have to agree with you when you suggest that the side-markers must go!

Yes - a rather long search for a new wastegate or diaphram (diaphram had a big hole in it) led to actually sending it to a little guy down the road from the factory to fabricate a new part. Now for reassembly! We have new throw out bearing, clutch and service done in the meantime, so we should be running like a champ soon.

Dan your new wastegate looks shiny & new! Compared to this old fella I viewed recently...

Im sure your old unit will be installed in a glass case for future Watkins generations to wax lyrical ad infinitum about?

This is actually the original unit, it has had the internals remanufactured by an aritsan in Italy - haven't seen the bill yet, but the only actual replacement I was offered was for 15K EUR, which I declined on principle since it was 3x the factory price (mind you the factory didn't have one).

    Wow.

How long did it take them to re-manufacture in Italy?

Can you share the source (either publicly or privately)?
