I am looking at getting a 4th car, something for the summer that I can play around with. New or vintage, it doesn't really matter. I am looking for something "different" that doesn't need a ton of work.

It would be great if you guys can think of something in a convertible form, but not necessary.

    Discuss! :D

Define your parameters. What's "cool" to you? Muscle, ancient sportscars, rat rods, 4X4? What's your mission? Burning time, picking up someone or sometwo for fun, bugsmashing on back roads, hanging at the drive-in?

First glance, Jeep Wrangler and a ski boat :D

    What do you have now?

    Help us help you.

Agreed. For a really fun experience, go classic with a CJ2A.

A used BMW roadster, or a solid 3 series from a few years ago would fit the bill.

He said he dosn't want a car that will need a ton of work. They can be reliable and have a good top end but most people dislike the body style.

    Good questions...

I currenty DD an Acura TL and a Lexus RX for the wife. The F355 is the only toy. I have owned 3 E36 M3 BMWs and really love those cars. If I can find a the right car, my search will end.

I am thinking something for evening and weekend cruises with the wife or friends. Something that is well, a cool car. Something that you might not see everyday and will turn heads. I would alos like it to be easy to sell once I get tired of it.

Here are some of the cars I have been tracking on ebay lately...

    E36 M3 Cabs
    1960s Porsche 912s
1994 1995 Merc E320 Cabs (very cool and unique, but a little too "old" maybe)
Alfa GTVs (most likely too $$$)
    Any old Fiats

I really am not too keen on America Muscle, but I am open to suggestions. Keep em' coming!

    I'm biased..

1986 or 1987 Buick GN. These cars don't turn....or stop well. They go straight....REALLY FAST. Some guys I know have'm set up for SCCA and they kick some arse.
The most fun car you will ever drive that gets 26-28 mpg.

The issue with these is finding one that's unmolested and priced right. I've owned 2 of them, but the looks are not for everyone. I mention it to people and they say "A Buick what?"

I 3rd the vote for the Buick GN. You can pick up a nice one for $15K.

If that is not your style buy a Miata and drop a V8 in it. (There are kits available) Power to weight ratio would be great and it will turn just as well as it will accelerate!

I was going to suggest a C5 (possibly a Z06), but they're not rare and won't turn many heads. Fun cars for the money, though.

    ????

They dont need a lot of work?? Do you even own one? A near perfect condition one can be picked up for $5K. Hell of a lot of fun, has that "classic car" feel, and cheap parts all around.

MR2 Turbo (If you want reliable speed with good looks that's a Toyota after all)
Datsun 240Z (If you want to own one of the top ten cars of all time)
