    Hi, Thought you might like to see my slow progress...........Waiting for a new windshield to be made would you believe so that i can get the dash and rest of interior in.
    The car is sitting really high and looks like a 4x4! I seem to remember Omgjon's looking like this. I know that theres no engine/box glass,or interior in yet but even if i stand on the cills and bounce around (16 stone) she still doesnt go down much.... anyone else had this?

    Hmmm. It does seem a bit high, to say the least. You're going to be adding the engine and transaxle at the rear, but there's not all that much weight to be added at the front. Where did you source the springs?

    Translation for us yanks, 16 stone is what, 224 lbs.?

    I can see you have a little camber, once engine driver and fluids are in it will be fine. I had a 550 porsche and it used to do that every time I took the engine out. Your OK

    Yes 224lbs. In fact there were two of us at roughly the same weight on the cills and it still didnt go down much! The car is approximately 70mm too high at present measured against another Dino. The springs are original and have only been stove enamelled. Also the shocks are original as they were rebuilt by Koni a few years ago and the car had been stood up since(on its wheels)

    One mistake which is made often is that after replacing the bushings of the triangle suspensions,
    the screws were fixed without having the weight of driver and co-drive rin the car.
    In the workshop manual is written that if I remembe rright 2 times 70 kg must be in the car WHEN the
    screws are tighten. This is the correct position from which the rubber will work against like the spring from the shock.
    If this is forgotten, the bushings will try to keep the too high position.

    Every one of the suspension bolts are still un tightened.

    It will go down. My car looked silly without the engine in.

    velocetwo...a real 550??? i had one on the street many years ago....a certain poster here, tritone, and i had some fun times in it. and then there was the o.s.c.a. zagato...but hey..the dino looks great! i can remember when there were beater 246's around the sf bay area.
